When asked about the state of Georgia’s kick returners earlier in August, Kirby Smart confidently listed Georgia’s top two options as Kenny McIntosh and Kearis Jackson. It makes sense, as Jackson served as the team’s punt returner last season, while McIntosh has returned kicks in each of the previous two seasons for Georgia.

    T he bane of UGA...injuries right before the big opening game. Happens every season. Now Jackson, although it sounds from Kirby that he will be ready to go against the Ducks. Probably not 100 percent.

    Although he didn't break any big ones last year, it sure is nice having Kearis' good judgment and steady hands in that catching punts and kickoffs.

    Two straight years with WR injuries impacting special teams at the start of the season. It underscores how important depth is at that position.

    Hopefully, we'll be returning a lot more punts that kickoffs again this year!
