Yeah, a "QB competition" between a guy with 34 career starts, 7250 career passing yards and 39 TDs, whose problems DID INICLUDE mostly a questionable supporting cast and coaching staff, who was "recruited" by the new coaching staff who could certainly use rescuing his career and sending him off to the NFL as a 3rd round pick as fodder for future recruiting ... and a redshirt freshman with 4 years of eligibility left, and is a dual threat QB who still needs work to transition to a pro-style offense. Oh gee. I wonder who is going to win.

There may be fewer questions about this year’s defense than there was at the same time last year. To hear the “experts” talk, they were all predicting the greatness of the Dawg D last year. That was just plain not the case. If it was, they would have had UGA ahead of everybody else but Alabama in the polls.

This years D may be just as physical and even more athletic and faster than last year. When it’s all said and done, I expect Saban to declare Bama was still in a rebuilding mode and all the rest of the bridesmaids were simply wannabes.

Yeah, every fan of a returning national champion is convinced that his team didn't get the credit that they deserved last season and is going to repeat this season. I was hoping that since UGA's last title was 40 years ago and has suffered from so many failures and overrated teams since then that you guys would have just a bit more self-awareness, but I guess that "fan" is short for "fanatic" for a reason. Look, as someone who is a casual fan of the sport but just happens to reside in Georgia let me state this: most of the time national titles are all about the merits of a particular team. Your team is good or even great. But the other guys are better. Last year UGA was "better" because they had one of the greatest defensive front sevens in football history. No matter how you convince yourself otherwise, Georgia WILL NOT HAVE THAT THIS YEAR. They are going to have some good players on defense - some first and second round picks - but so will other teams. There is a difference between being very good, great and special. UGA's front 7 last year was special.

If you win titles on a regular basis you know this. Alabama knows that their offense from 2020 was special. It had rookie NFL starters at QB, RB, 2 WRs (plus Metchie as the #3 WR), C and LT (plus Neal at RT). It may hurt the feelings of UGA fans, but their 2021 offense wasn't special. They had QB Young, WR Williams, WR Metchie, OT Neal , OG Ekiyor (also on the 2020 team) but had average guys at the other positions. TE, RT (true freshman) and C were outright liabilities that several teams exploited. Not just UGA but Texas A&M (who beat Bama) and Auburn, who bungled the chance to do so with horrible 4th quarter coaching. Yeah, see that's the deal. You UGA fans pretend as if Alabama was this unstoppable juggernaut until you took them down in the title game. Which is why you feign offense at the "rebuilding" thing. The truth is that Bama lost to A&M, needed 4 OTs to beat Auburn, only beat Florida by 2 points, LSU by 6 and Arkansas by 7. Now compare that to what you guys did to those same Auburn, Florida and Arkansas teams. It took an outstanding coaching job as well as some incredible individual performances just for Alabama to get in a position to lose to you guys because despite the coaching and performances they had flaws to exploit.

Well, UGA no longer has Walker, Davis, Wyatt, Walker, Dean and Tindall. The entire DL as well as the 3 best guys at ILB: gone. Yes you return Jalen Carter plus OLBs Beal and Smith but you had those guys last year too. A bigger issue is that the front 7 masked real issues in the secondary. Because you also lost Cine, Kendrick, Speed (starting CB at Michigan State), Kimber and Brini (I won't count Carroll) it is impossible to claim that unit is going to improve to the point where it will help the front seven the way that the front seven helped the secondary last year. Starks, Everette and Singletary were highly touted recruits but UGA uses NFL style coverages. Playing true freshmen will mean having to simplify things. Even though Patrick Surtain II was the #9 pick in the 2021 draft, when he started as a true freshman in 2018, Clemson ate him alive in the national title game. The difference between good - even very good - and special.

For someone who is a “casual fan”, lord you are long winded! And of all the defenders from last year’s team that you mention, guess how many were predicted for greatness in the preseason? Zero! None were preseason All Americans. So, this team is already ahead of last year’s team.

Check back in mid January and you can enlighten us all how the ‘23 team won’t be as great as the ‘22 team.

To all readers of this site, before the season starts, let's get this out of the way. Whatever this sore loser posts ALL season long, let us all just ignore it. We probably will not hear from him much all season though, since UGA will be winning every game thanks to our very good and only getting better defense as every game goes and our great offense. But then again, UGA just beat his beloved tide and are National Freakin Champs, and he still isn't over it, so he probably will.

Now, nothing casual about you thedik. Bet you have a very interesting existence. If they were to ever get you on the couch, it would likely be fascinating. Probably recommend you to be placed on several sorts of "watch" lists. What is it they say about people who seek attention, get off, by being an 488 4o1e?

UGA is national champs. Bama is not. Get over it loser. No matter the reasons. You thought Bama had it in the bag last year. So what you think now is worthless. UGA was better and won the game when it mattered. Sorry but all yall's talk about UGA is meaningless and over. Kirby will overthrow Saban in the next 3 years or less as the best coach in college football. Then, wow, will you be able to handle it?!

Blame it on injuries, blah, blah, UGA had major injuries and major players lost and injured before and during the season. UGA had a better defense than Alabama has EVER had. You hear that? EVER had. Split hairs all you want but how many did BAMA score when it MATTERED MOST? One GIFTED short drive for a TD pass by the Heisman winner? Excuses, excuses, poor little bama fans. You do not know jack about nothing. Your opinion carries no more weight than anyone's, no matter how much time you spend attempting to articulate and how much detail, you as a CASUAL, sore loser, go into.

Again, did you pick UGA to win it all last year? No. So all of your blabber is worthless. Meaningless. Fodder. Propaganda. BS. I think, you should move to SF, LA or NYC and go work for MSNBC. I hear there is a story about Trump being a secret Russian agent, that I am sure that you would just love to inform us ignorant people about for 2-3 years. But when its proven false, keep talking trash about him for another 3 years as if it were all true, instead of humbling yourself and begging forgiveness for your gross ignorance and misleading and influencing the public opinion of tens of millions. You seem a perfect fit for the position. 😁
