With the NFL season just around the corner, teams had to make roster cuts to get their teams down to the 53-man roster limit. There will still be additional moves made between now and the start of the season, but as it stands we have a pretty clear picture of well-represented Georgia will be in the NFL this year.

During the endless receiver threads, we kept hearing "Georgia has had 10 WRs drafted, more than [insert school here]!" Yeah, look at above. (And the list doesn't include Terry Godwin, who should have been listed as one of the cuts.) So, the WRs that are on NFL active rosters: AJ Green, Isaiah McKenzie, George Pickens and Mecole Hardman.

So folks, please stop feigning shock as to why so few top 100 WRs come to UGA and why so many WRs transfer out. No first round picks since 2011 (following the 2010 season). And only 2 guys who have been in the NFL more than 3 years (Green, McKenzie). Yes, this is a function of the lack of numbers that UGA WRs put up. Which means that things are going to have to change before elite WRs - as well as elite QBs that are not in state - come to UGA.

So are we to take from this that we should sacrifice our TE room this year to encourage longer term WR success in recruiting?

Ya missed Lawrence Cager. He was moved from WR to TE. How long have you been a Dawg Fan? 3 or 4 yrs?. LOL.

Did anyone happen to notice how many TEs UGA has in the NFL? in a couple of years, that's gonna double and that will be "more than [insert school here]". All day long. Who cares what you call em, they catch, block and run with the ball. If you don't want to call em WR...fine...but, they are receivers and UGA is getting the "best of the best", EVERY YEAR!
