ATHENS — Count the oddsmakers among those bought into the Georgia football offense.

Kirby should play Georgia football. Whatever identity he want the program to have as a foundation is how they should play ever game. Georgia must make a statement every game. Letting teams know that they came to play big boy football. Every game should be like Desert Shield/ Desert Storm. An air attack followed by a ground attack. Let's go Dawg!!!
So the question is should UGA do what Bama just did and throw the ball around the yard even though they vastly outclass their opponent?
Hate, hate, hate these kind of patsy games...just an excuse for injuries. Let's get all the scrubs in by the beginning of Q3.
1) Yes to passes, but few slants and mid field passes that Bennett has proven he can do in his sleep. He needs practice doing more NFL-type passes that you need against a Bama. 40+ yard passes and quick and hard passes.
2) Get 28+ points ahead and take out Bennett. Beck needs more game time and Vandagriff needs some reps.
3) Get Gilbert some more opportunities and see if he can get ready for prime time
4) Heavy blitzing needs to happen. We need to start getting some snacks.
Lets build depth!
Agreed, but leave the playbook open so Beck, Brock V., Edwards , Robinson, Delp, Gilbert and our young WRs can get some experience!

I don't hate these kind of games. If all 12 games were hard games, we'd likely have more injuries, etc. before the SECCG and playoffs.
My thought is if it's a cupcake team, then do what Alabama does to them...just run up the score and make it a game about statistics to show recruits.
It helps schools like Samford and it hopefully is an opportunity to put on a good show for the fans.
Now, I remember seeing the Charleston Southern player try to take a shot at JD99's knee last year when he scored that TD. Not sure if it was 100% intentional, but it was a reminder that no game is guaranteed from injuries.
It's a payday for these small schools, just hope injuries aren't the payment UGA has to make!
A bit of a predicament for UGA this week. Pressure from fans and media to cover a ridiculous 52 pt spread. AL beat their semi-patsy 55-0 last week. Is UGA truly #1? Then must cover the spread when beating its patsy?
A desire for UGA coaches to have a clean game. Work on the running game but exit the game with no injuries. RB position is a little thin. Paul out. Milton just now getting back to 100%. No desire to overuse McIntosh in a less significant game. Don't overuse DEdwards who is now a valuable substitution piece. Back up, walk on RB's may play the majority of the 2nd half. Do Beck and BVG play the whole 2nd half?
Style points (and rankings) are not important. What is important is roster development and management with an eye on full season goals.
KIrby couldn't have been totally happy with the run game against Oregon so I look for him to emphasize it this week, linemen going to get down and nasty this game, wouldn't be surprised to be around 250 in rushing and take some deep shots down the field for some quick scores, and dink and dunk when we need a 1st down. Get the starters out with 8 minutes to go in the 3rd and let the backups get more experience.
I don't like these patsy games either, but it does give opportunity for the 2nd team to get some needed real game experience (especially at QB). And we get a glimpse into the future.
@UGADad20 Utah State is 5 TDs better than Samford.
LOL...Are you guys really trying to compare UGA/BAMA Cupcakes? Who cares whether Utah St can kick Stamford's butt? When UGA crushed UAB last year, a team that shutout the team that beat FL ST, knowbody gave a hang. When they do roughly the same to Stanford this year...nobody will give a hang. It's just a glorified scrimmage.
That being said, what do you work on in scrimmage? Brushing up your weak areas and reinforcing your message to the team. Granted, UGA has significantly fewer weak areas on offense, than they had a year ago; however, their "interior run-blocking" and "interior O-Line Communication" needs a lot of work. The O-Line unit doesn't have a lot of experience, playing together. It usually takes a few games for a unit like that to gel.
Same with the the defense, between the tackles. LB/DL communications need to improve. It's a typical problem when you have turnover at those positions. It'll get straightened out and Saturday vs Stamford will go a long way toward enhancing communications.
I don't think UGA will try to play outside themselves against Stamford. They will approach it in a business-like fashion, play the guys that earned playing-time (regardless of depth chart), reinforce the "play to UGA standards" mantra and work on weak areas. You won't see anything they haven't already shown you.
