Probably just don’t like giving credit to other SEC coaches.
I think DVs are chicken shi+. Never given one. But that’s just me.
Agree. He has a tremendous athlete under center…but tremendous athlete doesn’t always translate into good QB.
Stoops is a great example of a coach being given enough time. In another thread I talked about Stoops being a fit at Kentucky. That matters. He’s well connected in Ohio high school football. I think he would also do well at Florida State but that Nebraska job, I wouldn’t take that unless I was ready to retire and get a big check.
I don’t see Napier being given the time at Florida. Stability in leadership is important. Look UGA and Kentucky with longtime coaches. The orange clowns let the inmates run the asylum.( all 3!) That fan base will not give Napier the time unless you have a University president with the gonads to stand up to the boosters. At this point it would take a Saban like hire to fix them IMO. A coach with enough **** to do what Saban did and let them know who runs things.
I have no idea how any college football fan can look at what Stoops has done at Kentucky and not be impressed.
Same here. Don’t understand it at all. Just simply move on if I don’t like or disagree with a post.
Got better things to do!
And Stoops is a helluva Coach! Any non-delusional fan-based team would love to have him! Actually, don’t really see him ever leaving KY unless there is some inner craving he needs to itch. Don’t think money motivates him.
Agree. Why would he leave Kentucky at this juncture? I guess everyone has a price…
Maybe, but that’s kind of my point……I don’t think he does.
Sometimes satisfaction in establishing a legacy (and passing a legend) can be enough! UF, tOSU, Auburn….they all have their legacies and legends.
I’m probably too young to remember TAMU’s legend…..might be some interest there.
This leads me into… I hope Monken is comfortable being the best OC in college football! 😎
He is their all time winningest coach now. Passed Bear Bryant with the win over FU.
Great coaches are a red hot commodity. I expect teams to go after him harder in the future.
That’s a big “Amen” !!!
@texdawg Absolutely a real threat to Georgia, and Kirby Smart if Billy Napier succeeds in the near term future, ditto for Stoops there in Kentucky. Kirby Smart has staved off Kentucky and Stoops up to this point. Nothing can never ever be taken for granted, just never.
This past weekend reminded me of 2007.
I agree, but I think that is more of a Kentucky thing than a Stoops thing. It's like when Spurrier went to SC. Yeah, he got them to levels they never achieved before, but deep down it's still SC. As an institution, SC and KY have certain limits in the football world. Stoops and Spurrier maxed out both.
Yep. He has 5.2 Million reason per year to stay....and he will likely have a nice bonus at the end of the year. And nobody expects him to win the SEC. Dude can go 8-4 every year and be a hero. Is it worth it for a couple mil more to go to a dumpster fire like Auburn or Nebraska or UCLA and likely ruin your reputation?
