OTOH, none of these current polls actually matter.

Unless they're loaded with Rat Poison. (Which they are.)

    Go, Dawgs!

Polls help with recruiting.....especially in the upper 3 or 4. IMO.

Glad to see the coaches poll place the dawgs where they should be - at #1. I guess old habits die hard - the dawgs aren't going anywhere year after year. You know Saban is ticked that Kirby is as good a recruiter and coaches as well as he does. Yes, Saban's team has a major roadblock each year to reach his goal and that is the Georgia Bulldogs. Unlike other teams that have challenged Bama over the years (Clemson, Ohio State, Florida, etc..) Georgia is built just like Bama and all of the strengths that make Bama great are also what makes Georgia great. It must be tough being in your 70s and you look at the next state over and you see a coach that is in his 40s doing everything as good as you do....does Saban have the stomach to challenge Kirby every year, or will he sooner than later call it quits...both coaches have long term contracts, it will be interesting to see if Saban will honor the full extent of his contract.

The Ducks beat Oregon? I didn't know that was possible! lol

No, because we really didn't play very well against Samford. It was beginning to look like we had just beat a weak Oregon team. After the Carolina game, though, no one thinks that - we played 100x better across the board.
