Sentell’s Intel: The pursuit of perfection matters to this Georgia football team
DawgNation has two dedicated staff writers in the press box for almost every Georgia football game. That’s Mike Griffith and Connor Riley. We also have a guy on the field snapping off photos. There is usually much more to be seen than what shows up in the viewfinder of his camera lens.

Great write-up, Jeff!
You can really tell how much the players are pulling for each other, with the way the tight ends and receivers are sustaining their blocks. This team may be the best that I've ever seen at it.
Jeff,
Thanks for being the kind of guy and writer you are. You really compliment the DawgNation team.
Sorry, Jeff-that should be "complement".
This is a great article, and the content is really, really compelling. I'm actually going to read parts again because there's such a richness of facts and analysis. While I love the SVPG story (inspirational!), the bigger point is that Sentell is a truly outstanding writer, whatever the topic.
Keep it coming, Jeff!!! 🙂🤟
Awesome read, Sentell. This should go in your book about Kirby and his Dawgs. I know I will be buying it one day...
Muschamp certainly left a positive mark on the South Carolina program.
With all due respect this is not true and you should not pretend otherwise. South Carolina had 4 losing seasons in the 5 years that he was there, including going 4-8 and 2-8 his last 2 seasons. They went 7-6 against an easy schedule last year - including barely getting by East Carolina, Vanderbilt and Troy - and are going to need every bit of effort they can muster to make it to .500 this year against a tougher schedule.
Saying things that flat out isn't true ruins credibility. Just because Muschamp is an excellent position coach and coordinator doesn't mean that we should pretend that he was anything but a disaster of a head coach that set UF and South Carolina back years. (This benefits UGA because it means that they will hold onto him for awhile ... no one is going to hire him as head coach as Beamer, Tucker and Lanning were.) While UGA fans are thankful for that - easy victories against those 2 are very helpful to the Athens cause - don't pretend as if the fanbase at those schools aren't justified in booing the guy. They don't enjoy being UGA cannon fodder and very justifiably wish that their schools had hired someone else.
He was speaking to the positive mark Muschamp left in the relationships and personnel not record. It is well known and documented that Muschamp forms strong positive relationships, which is a major part of why he is such a great recruiter.
