Um, it's not hate. It's realism. People with a brain know this team isn't where it should be. I'm not sure what joy juice people are on, but they are lacking in many areas. Should they be better - people say so. Recruiting rankings would suggest so. Can they improve to championship level - I would think so, but they have a few weeks before Florida. I'm starting to wonder about Oline coaching. Oline needs to figure it out. Stetson has to be more accurate. Someone has to complete some deep balls. DB's need to cover better. The numbers tell the story. It's not hate.

Exposed? Perhaps an opportunity to improve areas in obvious need of improvement?

On the other hand, the 4th quarter exposed just how quickly, and efficiently, and well the Dawgs can take over a game.

In the same vein, the first 75% of the game, especially the first half, exposed the abilities of our Dawgs to stay within range of victory even playing what might have looked like very bad football.

In 1980 we had some near losses. Our game against Florida exposed our weaknesses and deficits, but we won the game.

Winning exposes a fact: In the SEC it's an elimination gauntlet. We're still running it. We're undefeated.

    Go, Dawgs!

Great post as usual, @JimWallace !

Agree 1000%!! We were no more exposed for our shortcomings as we were for our successes in that game. The ability to efficiently “take over a game in the 4th quarter “ should be just as telling of the character of this team as any dropped pass or an inaccurate throw might show.

These are young men, after all, much younger in experience than last year’s team, but they still found a way to come from behind to win the game! That “exposed “ as much about these players as we need to see and such gained experience will be invaluable as the season progresses.

The telling clue was Coach Kirby’s calmness and demeanor during the game. He gets that this is always a fourth quarter game and that plays made in the fourth quarter are the result of plays made in the first quarter. That is why the recruiting, evaluation and development of these young men are so important.

And he knows that is what it takes to build a program and establish a winning culture. Which is why this program has sustainable success!

And remember, the young men on the other side of the ball have pride and want to win as well!

    I like our chances!

    Go Dawgs!
