Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:

- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)

- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans

- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum

- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

6th Street used to be amazing - not so much anymore. Sad to see.

I now live in the Sarasota area, though as a kid I lived in Athens and once played in a halftime kid's football game in 3rd or 4th grade between the hedges. I went to a Sarasota college 50 years ago. At the time it was independent but it went under long ago and was saved by the state to now be part of the Univ. of Florida complex. Despite that, they badger me for money all the time. But why should I pay extra voluntary taxes in effect to further support the Univ. of Florida system? I'm a Dawg fan to my core!

You’re right…the old 6th Street section where you would go to have a good time is referred to as “dirty 6th”; no reason to go there now. There are some places further down 6th, and South Congress is pretty cool, but it’s nothing like back in the day.
