The big question is why didn't kirby dominate the trash opponents after SC and play Beck more?

Not going to sugar coat this dawg biscuit! It is totally inexcusable and not very smart for Beck not to have acquired a LOT more playing time than he has given Stetson"s ineptness at times this year in the passing game! If Beck had been given more of a chance to play meaningful minutes it would be obvious Beck should be the starter! The truth is Kirby was to stubborn to give Beck a chance in fear of being second guessed and opening up ANOTHER qb controversy. A change needs to be made now! Start Beck against Florida and give him a chance to win the game! We are NOT going to beat the Vols with Stetson. If we don't beat the Vols the chance of even making it back to the SEC Championship game are slim to none and it will be another wasted season of what could have been!

Why in an article titled about "Beck" you spend 3 out of the 1st six paragraphs talking about Bennett? And 8 out 14 of the entire piece. If you don't have enough information on Beck don't title the article as if it's "MAINLY" about him. Title: "Georgia's good quarterback problem."

Beck definitely has more confidence this year- he looked a little tentative last year so we are definitely in good shape at QB next year

The "Dump on Stetson" train left the station, last year, when he won MVP of the national championship game. Get a life.

While SB$ looked adequate to pretty good in qtrs 1 and 2; he looked a little out of sorts in the third qtr of run for your life situations and some others where he could have thrown the ball away. In order to win the big games we are going to need 4 qtrs of solid play

Because, if he doesn't spend most of the article praising SBIV, half of the commenters here will lose their minds blaming MG for continuing to stir the QB controversy pot and having unfounded loathing for the starter. Even with the qualifying paragraphs, you can look below for plenty examples.

I just wonder how Gunner sees the future. Two years of Beck starting and Brock getting spare reps. Then, a year of two of Brock starting and some spare reps going his way. Then what, a year as the starter? And that's if CKS doesn't bring in others that pass him up on the depth chart. I just don't see how this train keeps rolling. And, for me, it all goes back to the Justin Fields fiasco. I will say, though, that CKS is loyal to his starter and that matters.

Mike, this is a nicely done and well balanced article.

We are very fortunate to have Carson Beck. Beck is fortunate to be in our program. Last season he sometimes looked a bit lost out there. This season he looks like he belongs, like he could take over if he had to, like a winner. Kirby & Company have done a great job bringing Carson along. He's becoming the mature quarterback we need behind Stetson Bennett, an heir apparent we can look forward to enjoying as he leads our offense.

As our QB2 Carson is in some circles the most popular player on our team. Whether he can win a national championship and whether he can become the MVP in two championship playoff games remains to be seen, but he certainly looks promising.

    Go, Dawgs!

If you look at Young (UA) and Hooker (UT) dropping dimes 30-40 yards down the field, it gives one pause about SB

First SBIV was NOT the MVP of the championship game. He was the OFFENSIVE MVP of the championship game. BIG difference. Mostly thanks to a circus catch where Pickens laid out for an over thrown ball, an AD Mitchell TD where AD outfought the AL DB for a 50/50 ball and a TE screen pass that BB took to the house.

Beck's success makes you wonder if CKS will play Beck if SBIV struggles in a big game early. If TN jumps out on UGA does Beck play? Interestingly with Beck at QB that KJackson became a weapon again in the middle of the field.

Beck should have played a lot more in the first 5 games. His passing talent is so much better than Stet. And we'll need that against the Vols and Tide.
