How Georgia football-LSU SEC champinoship game will impact College Football Playoff
ATHENS — There wasn’t much celebrating for Georgia after it punched its ticket to Atlanta, as the 45-19 win over Mississippi State locked up the SEC East for Georgia.

UGA wins physicality battle with KY...thus game.
This has been a fun season to watch different players grow in their effectiveness. I have liked the "teamwork" that is apparent. And one thing that has improved since Kirby has coached has been their sportsmanship. It is more "all business" (get the job done) and less about inciting other teams. One game at a time and "chop more wood." Good work ethic and that will translate into the players' other aspects of life. GO DAWGS!
Just a small "whatever" correction. While many believe that the #1 team in the final CFP rankings gets to choose which semi-final site it would like to play in, it is actually the CFP committee itself that makes the decision. The #1 team undoubtedly has input and the committee almost always goes with the site that would be logistically most favorable to the #1 team, but it is not required to do so. Go Dawgs!
Way in the back of my mind is the SEC Championship game with LSU....I can't wait to see the CURE for Harold Perkins.....The Dawg O Line!
Sorry, but that's a dumb argument. SEC losers make it to the Playoffs and Tenn is likely to make it without even playing.
The Committee doesn't value a conference championship. It's just another game. If LSU wins, they'll have around the same chance of Bama making it.
I would say that the odds are greater that 2 SEC teams are in the playoffs with neither having won the SEC than it is to have LSU there with 2 losses.
Okay UGA wins the SECCG. They're the #1 seed and play #4 TN. Do you want the game in Atlanta in the dome (perfect weather conditions) on a fast track or on grass in the elements (wind, cold, rain?) in Arizona?
I disagree w/Kirk. Conference championship winners IS 1 of the selection criteria. IF TCU, USC and Clempsome win out it will be very difficult for the committee to justify taking TN over them. That being said, I don't think they all win out. The only way LSU makes it is if they beat UGA. As the SEC champ that beat AL and UGA it would be a shock if they didn't make it. AND if LSU doesn't make it and they just beat UGA how would UGA make it?
"The Committee doesn't value a conference championship." If the committee didn't value the SEC championship, that would be a first!
If LSU wins out and beats GA in the SECCG, they're in. Period. If GA wins out and loses in the SECCG, they are still in. Period.
