    Yeah, and he's great in Neyland Stadium....just so long as he doesn't have to play in a raucous opposing stadium, he's awesome!

    Good grief there is no need to trash other players, let alone saying things that aren't true, as Hendon Hooker was the #1 rated passer when pressured in 2021. Yes, he played poorly against UGA, but - and a lot of people are determined to forget this - it was UGA's 4 and 5 star players against Tennessee's 3 and 4 star players. Tennessee's Jalin Hyatt to this day talks about how Will Muschamp didn't offer him a scholarship back when Muschamp was at South Carolina because Hyatt was a 3 star and Muschamp didn't think he was big enough to get open against SEC DBs. And this is South Carolina, a third tier SEC school, not a first tier one like UGA or even a second tier like A&M and Arkansas. Hooker may not have the "#1 overall pick in the draft" ability to overcome the huge talent gap between teams, but he was still a very good college player who would have been perfectly deserving of the Heisman had his defense not let Spencer Rattler throw as many TD passes against the Vols as he had thrown all season up to that point.

    Well pundits...you know what Stetson does? He wins. Classy guy and I think he'll go down in Georgia lore as being one of, if not, THE best ever. Not a bad way to end your college walk-on career. Irregardless of the NFL or anything else, he's set for life. It was a true joy watching him these last few years. Move over Rudy.

    If you have watched any football you'd know EVERY QB struggles/performs substandard when under pressure/duress.

    America loves the fairy tale, story book ending. We thought we had one last season. Another CFBCG win and this would be would be a Hollywood movie waiting to happen. Sentimentality will probably get additional votes for SBIV.

    @David and Gaf,

    You guys are spot on!!! I’m amazed at all the comments from “EXPERTS” who don even know the definition of the Heisman. It was never intended to go to a statistical leader even though that’s how the award has evolved. PLEASE everyone pull-up the definition of the award and as they said during the SEC Championship, Bennett epitomizes the Heisman Trophy. Go Dawgs and congratulations Mailman!!!

    Personally, I like to read about the hillbillies crying in their moonshine.

    Criteria for the Heisman:

    Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work. It is presented by the Heisman Trophy Trust in early December before the postseason bowl games. Outstanding performance which best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.

    OFFICIALLY, you need to be the best football player in the country as determined by the electors. This is a group of 870 sportswriters and 58 former Heisman winners. It’s as simple as that.

    UNOFFICIALLY: There are three unspoken factors that influence winning.

    1. Position: While any position can win the Heisman, it usually goes to an offensive player that handles the ball (QB, running back, receiver). In part, this is because scoring and/or passing for TDs is an easy barometer of success. Last year Chase Young, a defensive player from Ohio State was a finalist. Was he the “best” player in the nation? Many offensive lineman might have thought so. But it’s hard to prove from a statistical standpoint. In one game he didn’t have many tackles. Why? He was triple-teamed most of the game. While being triple-teamed is a massive sign of respect, there is no statistical yardstick for an elector to use to say, “He’s the best.”
    2. School: Major football programs have more “eyeballs” watching their games. Hence, their players from major programs have a distinct advantage. Did you know the State of Ohio has TWO exceptional college football programs? Ohio State (Div. I) and Mount Union College (Div. III). What’s their Heisman count? OSU 7, Mount Union 0. Enough said.
    3. Record: It is assumed that the best football player will have an impact on his team beyond his position. While not all Heisman winners concurrently have national championship ring, it is assumed their team was in the hunt for one. That’s why you’ll hear that a Heisman candidate’s chances have been reduced if his team suffers a loss, even if he had nothing to do with the cause of the defeat.

    This helps Explain why some other players mentioned aren't finalists.

    Stet definitely fits the criteria and the Dawgs are still in the hunt.
