Ohio State coach Ryan Day demoralized by 42-41 loss to Georgia, ‘we played a helluva game’
ATLANTA — Ohio State had Georgia right where it wanted it on Saturday night, on the ropes and on the verge of defeat.

It's Great to be a Georgia Bulldog!!!!
Cannot overstate the relief that we won, even by one point. This was an important statement game to beat the team up north. Now we beat both teams up north in back to back years. Hopefully recruits start to take notice and stop leaving the south to go play for them.
That was a helluva game. Like Kirby said, we have a lot to get fixed. It was the most emotional game I've watched all season. We could've easily just laid down and took the loss. But we fought back. With as bad as we played for most of the game, should've lost. And for all the people who said "not worried about cj stroud running", his running made us look silly. He looked alot faster than what the "experts" on here saying he runs like a 4.8-9. We thought mizzou was a wakeup game, this was 1000% a wakeup game. Glad we played it. Now Kirby has great teaching moments from this season going forward. Our DBs for harassed all game, specifically Ringo. For how he played, I wouldn't declare. He got embarrassed all night long. If that was one of his money games, he pushed himself to 2nd-3rd round. All talent in the world, but consistently 5-6 yards away from wide open receivers.
Ohio State got away with a lot of offensive holding that wasn't called.
It clearly was NOT targeting. The concussion came when his head hit the turf as a result of a very big, very clean hit.
And seriously, I know everyone says that the calls went against their team but that offsides called on us when it was so ridiculously clear that their lineman moved before the snap gave them an extra set of downs after we stopped them and they went down and scored.
Also, the PI in the end zone that absolutely was not..... You give them the ball at the 2 when they should have been kicking? There were some really, really bad calls and I didn't see any go our way. Yes, I may be using my rose-colored glasses but those were 2 very specific game changing bad calls. I thought it was funny how Scott Howard and Eric Zeier questioned how the officials would be and then very shortly after the start of the game were revisiting that question due to the bad calls.
I thought Kirby took a conservative approach on defense similar to the 2021 SECCG. They finally started blitzing more in the 4th quarter and it seemed to help. At the end of the day, Dawgs are on top and that's the only thing that matters.
Great game and I am Too Old for this crap:-) The officiating was horrid as Ohio State held on most plays and were never flagged. Great teams pull out unbelievable wins-Great Win Dawgs!!!!
Yesterday was one of the best and most electrifying days of college football that I can remember. I was exhausted after just watching the TCU game! Dawgs and Buckeyes caught some breaks and some bad luck. Both teams lost key players. It was a war in the trenches, and Day dialed up an excellent game plan. Stroud was magnificent, but Stet overall was the winner in the end. These Dawgs are a resilient and scrappy bunch. It hasn't been pretty many times, but we are 14-0. That says it all.
Now, time to lick our wounds, shake off this game, and go finish the drill next Monday. Looking forward to another great game!
GO DAWGS!! And Happy New Year!!
We obviously didn't play our best game. But we are fighters and never gave up. Bennett's legend grows as he leads the Dawgs to another key victory. I thought OSU probably played their best game of the year. They made no mistakes. Georgia, on the other hand, played sloppy at times (including two missed FG's). I thought that OSU should have been called for holding multiple times. The jersey grabbing was very obvious. Both teams lost key players to injury. So OSU losing Harrison was no worse than GA losing Washington and McConkey (played, but not 100%). We also lost Chambliss, who was a second stringer until Nolan Smith got hurt earlier this year. All things considered it was an exciting game, right up there with the 2018 Rose Bowl.
About the reversed targeting hit on Harrison: that on was on CJ Str.oud for hanging that throw up for so long
Georgia Did not just win 14 games in 2022, it won 15. Remember that game in January in Indianapolis??
I’ll admit it- I had given up and gone to bed a few minutes into the 3rd, convinced it wasn’t our night and the intangibles favoring Ohio State were too much for the Dawgs to overcome. But boy was I wrong. And while I’m not technically superstitious, I’m gonna take one for the team during the natty and not watch. It’s silly on the face of it… but DA*M it sure seems they play better when I don’t watch.
Good luck Dawgs! Finish this drill and bring home another natty!!!
Tosu played a great game. I hope they don't denigrate their efforts by making excuses and blaming the refs.
Go, Dawgs!
