Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I would go to Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island if you want luxury and quiet/sophisticated money no object. Amelia Island Omni resort for a livelier and contact with more Spring breakers; likely some Dawg fans if spring break coincides. @DawgNationDaily can give you an objective opinion here!
I would agree with @allyw regarding St Simon/Sea Island which is the favorite place for Dawg fans to stay the week of the WLOCP!
Anna Maria Island. Gulf side. The best
Took my wife there for an anniversary once. We rode horses on the beach, kayaking. Was great
Destin.
How are things going down there since hurricane Michael and the COVID? The last time we were there was 2 weeks before Michael hit. Went to Destin in November 2021 - big mistake. It's not quite the same place as when we had our honeymoon there in 1992!
Awesome. Greatly appreciate it
Everything is great here on the old Forgotten Coast.
Spring should be here in a few weeks so come on down.
@CigarDawg what is area typically referred to as the Forgotten Coast?
Not a big topic of conversation around here but most of the locals consider it from Indian Pass (Gulf Co) to Panacea (Wakulla Co). Originally was from Mexico Beach to St Marks but that was 30 years ago.
Beautiful country, my friends and I incorrectly called that the Big Bend area. That's why I was confused 🤔 . Thanks!
Lots of great options, but I'll piggyback on the Ponte Vedra idea with a golfing twist. We love the Sawgrass Marriott. It's at the TPC course, so you can check on great golfing packages at the TPC--the hotel is set up for golfers. They have a shuttle that runs regularly to and from the beach (~10 mins) where they have a little club. It's actually easier than walking in a lot of situations. The hotel complex has great pools, games for kids and adults, a putt-putt course and a good spa/gym. They have traditional rooms and condo/apt suites you can rent so it is more like a home and you do have a small kitchen. That would be my recco for family/ies. Close to the Palm Valley Fish Camp (my fave restaurant in the area), where you can fill up on Mayport shrimp and FL seafood. As stated earlier, perfect for field trips to St. Augustine and areas south of Jax (like Cape Canaveral tours).
We have stayed there many times over the last 30 years including several WLOCPs. On our most recent stay over NY's we shared the hotel with the Gamecock team (lots of sad faces for bfast). Shared it with the Gators, too, for the WLOCP. The only negative is that they are doing a rolling refresh on the rooms, so if you get an older room it isn't updated, still nice, but not new and nice.
Understandable as the region sometimes includes Apalachicola. Big Bend Coast pretty much goes from St Marks to Cedar Key. Epitome of what one would call "Old Florida".
Another great place that we’ve stayed before. Would recommend
