Life is about choices, and, more importantly, the choices we make. In life, many choices matter a great deal, thus the choice made is a really good choice, or a really bad choice. Whether or not attend the senior bowl might not matter much in the end - had nothing happened shortly afterward. However, if he did get snockered, and bang on the doors of stranger's homes, that was a terrible choice, and makes his choosing not to attend the senior bowl a really bad choice.
Hell hath no fury like a bowl executive spurned. Of course Nagy wanted Stet there for the draw, but the man just won the second of back to back nattys 2 weeks ago, has plenty of game tape, and clearly decided the senior bowl was not the best path for him at this point. He's NEVER aspired to be a backup; it's not in his make-up, and if that's how they wanted to showcase him, even more reason to turn it down. Of course he did serve as a backup for a full season when he came back to UGA, as well as parts of two others, always prepared and ready to step in - as in 2020 when he was initially deemed 3rd team at best but bailed them out when others left or failed and AGAIN in 2021 when, after being benched for parts of two seasons, he stepped in and led his team to their first national championship in 40 years !!! When many said that was fluke and he should move on, he proceeed to outdo everything he had done the year before. He has NEVER put himself before team despite all the playoff MVP awards and Heisman nomination. Give a guy a break. I'm betting on Stet as he bets on himself, and if he doesn't make it, it will only be because he constantly challenges himself to succeed at the very highest level, never settling.
It is an interview and an opportunity. You take advantage of the opportunities, particularly when you need them, and I'm sorry, but I think he needs them because I don't think he has any idea where he is headed. We've seen enough drafts to know that what we believe is going to happen doesn't. That sure fire first round selection sometimes drops (see Nakobe Dean). With the exception of a very few early first rounders, players don't know up until they get a phone call right before their name is called where they are going.
Yes, football is a high risk venture at any level but it actually IS a high paying job that a very small percentage get an opportunity at the professional level so yes, any chance to show off is a chance you need. And don't think that a running back isn't high risk yet there is McIntosh, taking his turn because, while he is amazing, he recognizes he needs the additional opportunity.
And as you said, he has not been given the benefit of the doubt so yes, sometimes you have to work harder and not just smarter. Bennett's entire career shows that. How much do you want it and what are you willing to do to get there? Me? I'd do anything I had to.
You just can't let it go and move on from SB can you Mike?
What on earth are 10 college football HCs doing at a Senior Bowl practice? Do they need ink that bad?
Funny you should mention that point because it also hit me as a bit strange. I guess those coaches are bored and maybe they are there to support a former player. I agree with you that it’s a bit bizarre. Go Dawgs!!!
Has anyone considered possibility that Stetson is n 1st stages of grief for Devin? Afterall Devin protected Stetson n last 3 games. Young ppl cope w/ loss n various ways. Still hard 4 me, an old person, 2 watch replays of last 3 games, my heart still aching. Instead of criticizing, lets PRAY 4 Stetson, (families of DW & CL, teammates, coaches, Kirby) - grieving is hard, I know, i buried my 1st daughter @ 16 yo n 1995, then my future son-n-law died n MVA, 2019, a WR 4 Troy team who beat LSU.
Time heals, lets give Stetson time, time 2 heal, time 2 process the end of a legendary performance 4 a small town boy never looking 4 fame just love 4 UGA like all of us🙏❤🖤

Well said. There are some here that don't understand the way the world works and logic LOL.
As for "risk" in this game, QB is the least risky position to play in this game with all the QB protection rules and the "all-star" games ban on blitzing.
Plain and simple it is a missed opportunity for any player (especially a QB) that passes. Compounded by an arrest that occurred when he would have been practicing, learning the plays and meeting w/coaches and GM's. Bad decision making.
For all those giving SBIV a pass for "boys being boys". How many of you have been arrested after the age of 25? Doing something boneheaded at 18 is one thing doing something boneheaded at 25 is totally different.
