Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

AJC can't stop chasing the ambulance...

Here’s where you say “inserting himself into investigation”
I’m aware. I just restated what you were saying in a different way.
Nothing I’ve stated is false. Either give specifics about what I’ve said is wrong or shut up.
I’ve explained multiple times that his known interactions with the police were inappropriate. Shouldn’t have that level of access to cops actively investigating a fatal crash site through direct contact with the chief of police. Anything he could have done to help the situation did not require that. Every explanation given could not reasonably justify why he would need access to the crash site and the officers investigating.
You and everyone else also can’t explain why he was there interacting with investigating officers. The race baiting here is absurd. It’s a fatal wreck not a traffic stop.
none of you can give a coherent explanation for why he needed such intimate access to the police.
He quite literally did that lmao. Just denying reality at this point
Weird, because I feel like I’m saying the opposite of what you’re saying… I’m saying that when a leader sees his people in trouble they rush to the scene and figure out if there’s a way to help. I’m saying that it’s perfectly normal for people to rush to the scene. I’m saying that a person can rush to the scene and talk to a police officer without compromising anything. And police chiefs are supposed to give their numbers out to people so lots of people have it, and Gantt was specifically selected because he had that number. What’s the police chief going to say, “I know it’s unusual for you to have kids die, but we’re used to it, so don’t show up”? What sane person would even listen to that instruction?
Theres no race baiting or guilting you over dead kids. Im showing you that two things are wrong: 1) there’s a perfectly rational reason the cops would want to talk to Gantt… to help them move faster 2) there’s a perfectly rational reason that Gantt went there immediately… because he was in a very serious crisis situation and showed up and he hit every panic button he could find to try to get info and mobilize resources in case it was needed.
I think it’s super **** to assume that UGA’s fixer tried to muck around with an investigation into the death of two kids.
I never assumed that
I originally assumed that it was understood by all when the OP included it in the headline that he was simply using it more as a metaphor for calling out the AJC’s spin as the journalistic equivalent of lawyers shamelessly chasing ambulances. However, thanks anyway for clarifying the actual difference.
Ok then, I’ll bite. Why do you think he showed up and, as you put it, “inserted himself into the investigation”?
Which is also a dumb thing to describe his behavior as… he could literally conduct a full parallel investigation with private investigators and private accident experts, take his own scene photos, and conduct his own interviews with everyone, and still not being “inserting himself into the police’s investigation”. How fragile or complicit are you imagining the police?
He called the police chief at 3:15 AM and had the chief give him access to the officers at the scene. How dumb do you think we are?
I wouldn’t assume that anyone understands anything in this thread…
See what you started?
Could he have been acting as a liaison, and single point of contact for the University? minimizing time the police might otherwise spend redundantly explaining events to multiple university "representatives?" The ideal way to clarify would be to ask the police how his role was perceived. Fallacy of false dilemma?
Does that require him to be at the scene of the crash talking to the police performing the investigation? No, and you know that too. These fake scenarios y’all keep making up are getting more and more absurd
Hopefully YaleJesus is resting this sabbath day. That was a long day yesterday spreading the good news.
You’re making up a fake scenario where a UGA fixer inappropriately intruded upon the scene of the accident and basically tried to sabotage a police investigation involving two dead kids. But when we point out he was more likely doing dozens of other benign things, we’re the ones making up scenarios.
