Want to attack every day with the latest Georgia football recruiting info? That’s the Intel. This rep has the latest with 5-star RB Kam Davis from Dougherty High in Albany. He ranks as the nation’s No. 2 RB and the No. 27 overall prospect for 2024 on the 247Sports Composite ratings. He’s also the nation’s No. 2 RB and the No. 31 overall recruit on the On3 Industry Ranking.

"The tradition of “RBU” and the pipeline of backs that have flowed out of Athens of late is substantial. Kenny McIntosh. James Cook. Zamir White. D’Andre Swift. Nick Chubb. Sony Michel. That’s just going back to the last six seasons in Athens."
Yeah ... of the guys on that list only Swift, Chubb and Michel averaged 60 rushing yards a game and were top 50 NFL draft picks. The idea that a 5 star player is going to come to Athens in order to be part of a "tradition" of carrying the ball 10 times a game and being a 4th round pick isn't realistic when the competition is offering many more carries, which translates into a much better chance at being a top 50 NFL draft pick with the guaranteed money on your rookie contract that comes with it.
There are connections to current players from South Georgia.
Despite Kirby Smart being a Bainbridge guy himself, he has continued the practice began under Mark Richt of mostly ignoring south Georgia in favor of the Atlanta suburbs and out-of-state players. While you can't blame him, it does mean that the few 5 star players produced in those areas these days are far more likely to head to the schools that are recruiting the 3 star Georgia high school players that UGA is now passing up in favor of 4 and 5 star recruits from the Atlanta suburbs and out of state.
Add those 2 factors together and there is absolutely no reason for a 5 star tailback from south Georgia to consider UGA. UGA can't do anything about the second factor as it would mean passing up top 150 guys from Texas and California in favor of lesser ranked guys from Albany, Valdosta, Columbus and even smaller places like Thomasville, Americus and Cairo. I have always felt that Georgia Tech should be the program to focus their efforts on the 3 star kids from the city of Atlanta and rural Georgia that UGA doesn't have room for. Bobby Ross, Chan Gailey and George O'Leary had varying degrees of success doing so but the coaches that followed them weren't interested.
But the first factor? Simple. Get back to running a true pro-style offense that gives feature tailbacks their carries. Just because Smart won 2 in a Monken system that devalues the RB doesn't mean that Saban, Swinney and the others were wrong or outdated. Look at Clemson in 2018, LSU in 2019 and Alabama in 2020. They had 1st round picks in Trevor Lawrence (#1 overall), Joe Burrow (#1 overall) and Mac Jones (#15 overall) while still having #1 picks at RB (Travis Etienne, Clyde Edwards-Heliare, Najee Harris) and WR. Meaning that 5 star skill players didn't have to sacrifice their NFL prospects to play in those systems. No need to ask them to in order to play for UGA. In large part because ... they won't. They will choose programs that allow them to contend for titles AND develop as high draft picks.

It appears that the connection between Dianna and Norvey is too high a hurdle. Couple that with the fact that he'll have around 20 carries a game at FSU and he's Seminole bound.
WCH…No doubt Herschel was one of a kind and you are correct all counts but when I saw the picture above in the red shirt his build and facial features reminded me of him. Go Dawgs!
