3 takeaways on Georgia football reloaded offense: ‘don’t make a bonehead play’
ATHENS — Kirby Smart got about what he expected out from his offense in Scrimmage One, which is to say Georgia football has a lot of work ahead.

I thought the word bone-headed was leaving with Stets 🙄
question for @MikeGriffith — you mentioned it in this article as well as several others you have posted.
the need for a transfer RB. Is this thought yours as a reported/individual, or have you heard some internal rumblings off the record.
I ask as I believe the depth is fine once the two seniors are back along with Paul. 5 RBs should be more than sufficient to get through the season.
Kirby was referring to current UGA RBs as not having the pass-catching skills Kenny Mac possessed. By inference, Mike G. deduced the portal may be sought by Kirby to fill this "void" after spring drills. I do not believe Mike has an inside line on this.
I mentioned the portal a week ago for a RB :)
Transfer portal for RB ... in order to be the 4th string RB at best this fall when the top 2 RBs recover from their minor injuries? In a program where the starting tailbacks have gotten 10-12 carries a game and been 4th round picks the past 3 years? I don't think UGA will attract the best candidates. Also, isn't UGA up against the 85 limit? Who do you want to shove off the roster in order to make room for an RB transfer who is never going to play a big or even middling role for UGA?
It is best to just let the current guys get healthy and this fall let Bobo go back to an offense that good RB recruits actually want to play in instead of the Monken scheme that marginalized them and ruined their stats and draft prospects.
Lol...seriously...is that the first time that you guys have heard a Coach or Drill Sgt. or instructor...use the word "boneheaded"? I don't get it.
I've heard that (boneheaded) and many other delightful euphemisms applied to various people and situations over the decades. It's just a term used to say..."that's not how you were taught."...or..."you need to stop and think". Lol...it's not an indictment. Those things will be fixed...through "experience.
I was unintentionally, a little hard on BVG and Beck, in a recent post aimed at identifying weaknesses. What I didn't say, in the post, is...despite their weaknesses, they are still in the top 5% of QBs in the Country...and either one has the potential to take UGA back to "The Promised Land", in '23, '24 and '25.
What both QBs do well...is good enough...but...it's not "perfect"...yet. And, we all know...Perfection, though unattainable, is the goal on Kirby's teams. That's why they are reigning Champs.
@thadec No pass catchers out of the backfield -- Dawgs need a third down back
I agree with the entirety of your 1st paragraph. If the Dawgs need another RB, there are several existing players, that could be moved to the RB position...including Bowers.
The statement below, however...smh...I don't get. Lol...explain, please.
"instead of the Monken scheme that marginalized them and ruined their stats and draft prospects."_____thadec
That statement is hilarious. Lol...especially, in light of UGA's unprecedented success in the most recent draft...and, their projected success in the '23 draft. Talk about a "boneheaded" statement. Lol
"Eatin' off the floor"?
CKS had to retire "boneheaded" because it was creating too much extra pressure on SBIV (and too much angst/vitriol for/from SBIV's thin skinned fans). I am glad he is bringing it back.
