Total nonsense. Kirby will name the Starting QB based upon performance in practices and the spring game. There is absolutely NO way Kirby will promise Beck the starting game unless he earns it between now and when toe meets leather.

McElroy has a 50/50 chances of being right, but there is no way Kirby promised Beck the starting QB position, the only thing Kirby would promise Beck, is he will have the chance to compete for said QB position, anyone that has followed UGA since Kirby has become coach, knows he does not give out positions, they have to be won.

Mike should have mentioned what you folks jumped on.

Kirby's position is and always has been that the players giving us the best chance of winning will play. There is only the promise of arduous work, extreme competition, and an opportunity to prevail.

McElroy is adding 2 + 2 and getting the answer he wants.

    Go, Dawgs!

Cut McElroy some slack. Apparently at AL guys are made promises and queued up for their turn. That is not how it works at UGA. That competitive edge that UGA has gained in practice is what has put AL in the rear view mirror.

Maybe UGA can show the country that meritocracy is the only fair way to achieve the best.
