Someone got in his ear about "NIL" ($$$). Bear probably had the highest ceiling of all the interior DL. So this is a loss that will set back the D.

First half of the spring game and the D has not been impressive. Granted multiple players missing.

Bear taking the money now and transferring hurts his long term development. Iron sharpens iron. There will be less iron wherever he ends up.

He had a bright future ahead of him here at Georgia but obviously, he has other things on his mind. He will do well wherever he goes but I’m willing to bet he won’t do as good come draft time. Kirby is developing multiple first round defensive players every year now. Surely he is intelligent enough to understand the future advantage of sharing playing time would do for him down the road. I think there is more to it than that, and we will probably never know.

NIL is changing the game...both good and bad. But, if Bear is not committed to the G then better know now than in August.

    So be it...

Bear may be home sick just like Stephenson was who went back to Miami area. Sometimes being away from family and friends is too much. So if he lands at Texas with Sark and gets to see his family, gf, etc. AND gets a million dollars a year why wouldn't he do that?

This may seem tough for people to understand but Stetson made 1 million in NIL last year and Texas may be offering really big money. So, there you go.

The new reality is top 20 college ball is now semi-pro and just like AAA and AA baseball the players want to get paid now.

It would be great if he changed his mind but everyone has to make their own life decisions. Maybe the dynamic with the coach wasn't great or he realizes we have 6 other guys who can do what he does and he isn't all that so take the money somewhere else now while you can get it. Who knows...

I get that. I hope Bear goes on to have an incredible career. I wish him all the best. I should've said this earlier.

This is a big loss to the interior Dline. Bear was a returning player that was going to be a starter this year, imo. I think it's 1 of 2 reasons he did this- 1 Getting more NIL money from another school, or 2 he just cant handle putting in the work that the coaching staff requires of their players. Maybe he thought he was gonna get a pass on all the hard work since he was a 5 star player and he got a rude awakening and just couldn't cut it, so he tucked his tail and ran away.

Not sure what it was but I do know he will be making a colossal mistake leaving UGA since he was primed and ready to play a much bigger role this year for the defense. We do have replacements for him in Hall and Jarrett but they are freshmen and need game experience, I'm pretty sure Bear just cost himself hundreds of thousands of dollars, maybe even millions of dollars, with this decision.

I am actually glad he left since he would caused a lot of negative things to happen in that locker room, which championship teams dont need and dont allow a single player to damage their team chemistry. Dude is ultra talented physically but not sure he's got a lot going between his ears and maybe thats why he made a bad decision. lol

    GO DAWGS!!!
