Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Latest Georgia commitment shows the value of Fran Brown, recruiting nationally
In an ideal world, Georgia would be able to have a roster full of just players from the state of Georgia. Fans would love the idea and it would slash the costs of Georgia’s recruiting budget.

It’s really just a common sense approach to recruiting and I’m surprised more schools don’t employ this method. You go after quality young men, wherever they may be, who excel at their respective positions. Then, with the quality coaching staff Kirby has assembled, you coach them up and promise them nothing but only grinding and hard work will get you on the field to display your talents. This builds team cohesion and unity. Certainly having the support of big boosters and the admin is important but Kirby is responsible for all of that that. We may not three peat this year but I have no doubt Kirby will be bringing more national championships to Athens. Before Kirby is done, he may well be one of the winningest coaches in all of college football and hold the record for most NC, Saban included. His name will forever be etched in UGA history. Go Dawgs!
Kirby will retire as the GOAT. The NC trophy will be named after him. His face will be carved into Stone Mountain. He will write books like John Wooden. Book it!

I suspect one reason is money.
While others are playing checkers, Kirby is playing chess. It is obvious that he foresees the future and plans accordingly. The state of Georgia is stocked with talent, but one would be foolish to think that all that talent will stay in the state. Georgia has become a legitimate national brand and, as such, recruits accordingly. Heck, we went all the way to Australia to get the best punter in last year's class. As Dr. Deming said, "Problems of the future command first and foremost constancy of purpose and dedication to the improvement of the competitive position to keep the company alive and to provide jobs for their employees." Re-written for Georgia's situation, it might read: "Problems of the future command first and foremost constancy of purpose and dedication to improvement of competitive position to keep the brand alive and to provide championships for the team, the university, and the fans of Georgia Football." At 48, Kirby is just getting started. He's not trying to be the next Saban, Dooley, Bryant, ad nauseum... He's aiming to be the next him. Will he become the GOAT of college football? Time will tell, but he's got a pretty good start...
