Georgia football podcast: Steve Spurrier takes jab at Kirby Smart
Georgia football is the No. 1 topic every day on DawgNation Daily — the daily podcast for fans of the national champion Georgia Bulldogs. Catch up on everything happening with UGA athletics with host Brandon Adams and the DawgNation experts as they break down the latest Georgia football recruiting news and discuss coach Kirby Smart’s quest to keep the Bulldogs on top of the college football world. On episode No. 1,992 (July 20, 2023) of the podcast, Georgia fans can hear a discussion about what former Florida coach Steve Spurrier said in response to some comments from UGA coach Kirby Smart at SEC Media Days about the Georgia-Florida rivalry game.
Comments
Steve was a great coach at Florida but he was a quitter at South Carolina. A quitter is a hypocrite telling his players to give their all and him not doing it. He is jealous of what we have at UGA and he tries to be relevant making **** statements. My dawg has a gnat on his azz. I care as much about Superior's thoughts as I do the gnat on my dawgs azz.
Spurrier was a revolutionary coach at Florida. I still am not sure how he only won 1 NC.
He was very immature when he was younger and is a very self-centered person. Glad he is gone from coaching as he ruined a lot of potentially special years for Georgia fans. He respects Kirby though, I think they are actually friends.
Spurrier is a buffoon and an embarrassment. He coached at FU, the flagship program, in 1 of the top 2 state's for producing football talent in the country. And underachieved. Any time he actually had to win on his coaching ability (NFL, USCe) he was shown to be a loser and quitter.
The way Spurrier self aggrandizes his fantasized relevance as anything but a joke is truly funny. I would be embarrassed to have a buffoon like Steve Spurrier be the face of any program/school I supported. A 7 year old who has played 1 season of little league has learned more about sportsmanship and humility than Spurrier has learned in a lifetime.
But UGA fans should thank Spurrier. He blew off high school peon Kirby Smart's recruiting visit to FU. Smart from south GA wanted to go to FU. Had he gone to FU he might now be the coach of FU doing what he is doing at UGA at FU.
How many natties did spurrier win? That's what matters. He could look at fu total record against the DAWGS. The gap will be wider in the next few years!! GO DAWGS!!!
I hear they have an anal-ist position open at the Swamp.....as there will be whole lotta butt hurten going on down there in 23....The Old Ball Coach might want to scuff it up one more time and give it a try.
