I wanna believe coaches Smart and McGee are lowering expectations, partly to motivate these guys in their recoveries -- especially Milton.

    Consider this:

    • Everything we've seen of Milton (when healthy) makes him look to be ahead of McIntosh as a rusher.
    • Branson seems to be ahead of where McIntosh or Milton were at the true sophomore stage.
    • Edwards last year had 870 total yards (!) toggling between No. 2 and No. 3 in the rotation.
    • Although I doubt he'll get the rock very much if others are healthy, Roderick looks ready to rumble over a lot of linebackers.
    • We don't know as much about Paul, especially after his ACL, but all reports would place him well above the your average fifth-string RB.
    • Jones, Clark and Whitehead surely give the Bulldogs the best group of walk-on RBs in the country.
    • Our veteran interior line will have more "push" than any other line that our opponents face this year.

That's enough depth to handle one or two on the DL. As for "superstars": My money's on Milton having that kind of season. But if he goes down, Branson will break out.

Do our guys match Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards? Maybe not. But On3 still ranked our RB unit as seventh in the country.

Granted, only Edwards has caught a lot of balls and isn't nearly as elusive as McIntosh after the catch. But Bobo's got a lot of other tools to work with (somebody mentioned Mews as a slotback, for example). Add on top of all that: Cash Jones may find a perfect niche as a receiving threat out of the background!

Every year is different. Championships and successful season are won by coaching that plays to the strengths of the current years team. Not forcing and trying to do it like last year.

Although it was successful last year, you set yourself up for failure if last years strength is a weakness. Do not make the mistake of "I got to be like Monken and throw more than ever to the RB's. Monken would not do that this year if it was not there. THAT is being like Monken!

Look elsewhere for that production. Got to be able to adapt. Now and during a game. Got to. Luckily Kirby is not stubborn and I do not believe the other coaches are either. Build around the strengths and weaknesses of this years best players. Or do not be surprised if you lose when it counts the most.

We are going to have to give it away to lose to anyone. This is about as dominant a team as you will find going all the way back to Nebraska in the 90s or the Oklahoma teams in the 70s. We not losing to nobody dude!
