Let's go Mehki Mews. He could be the next walk-on to significant contributer on the team. Go Dawgs!!

He's another one of those guys who doesn't fit the 'perceived mold' of what a superstar should look like. I hope he gets a shot because he is tough to tackle and bring down.

I hear ya. And when I say "contributor", which I misspelled, I mean having the type of year that could possibly get him drafted. Go Dawgs!

Fantasy football participation has skewed perception of what a superstar or even a contributor is these days. A small sample of success, like Mews had in the spring game, suddenly projects to bloated statistical expectations for this season.

Mews had an interesting spring game. But the reality is that there are 6 wr's mentioned who currently rank above him on the depth chart. He is a slot receiver only because of his size. So are Lovett and McConkey. BB's can also play slot though TE injuries probably table that for now. Unless Lovett gets hurt, the majority of Mews' playing time will be against the weaker teams on the sched or in garbage/blow out time.

He could also contribute as a KR. The more success he has the bigger his role will be. But to think of Mews as being anything but a spot substitute or marginal contributor this season is improbable. Certainly not a "superstar" (a word thrown around recklessly these days) or someone with a draft resume after this season.

Let the guy enjoy his R-So season and continue to work at getting better w/o setting unrealistic expectations.
