Alabama football moved up one spot in the AP Top 25 and FWAA Super polls and even drew a first-place vote, but none of that carries over to the scoreboard.

When Alabama loses-how far will the ESPN run polls drop Bama?

Would be wonderful for the Gumps to lose. Unfortunately, I expect them to win by 3 tds. Texas ain't back, they could barely beat Rice.

One spot...unless somebody above em loses.

All the sports networks and personalities, went all-in on Bama, Clemson & OSU a long time ago...thinking they owned DIV1 CFB.. Now, they've added Neon Dieon to their Hype menu.

Georgia will force all em to rethink their investment...real soon. Bama is not in UGA's league, right now...and, OSU is not in Bama's league, IMO. Nobody is...and they don't know what to do about it...except, to keep pushing the "narrative".

ESPN couldn't continue to do that, with David Pollack on board. I dare em to fire Elle Duncan. Lol

That 3rd Championship will move the earth for UGA and CFB...and, Kirby knows it. He will NEVER say it...or imply it...but, UGA stands alone this year. I wouldn't mind seeing a UGA vs MICH...or UGA vs OSU rematch, in Dec/Jan.

Bama may indeed find their way back to the CFP. IF...their QB is for real. We'll see, this weekend. Even IF, he IS "for real"...Texas looked pretty darned good last week. But, that impression has to tempered with the fact...Rice is not Bama.

That being said...Texas is not Middle Tennessee State...and...Milroe is not Bryce Young. So...there's that. Lol

Last year's game, took a Bryce Young performance to beat Texas by 1 point, at the "end of the game". Texas returns quite a few players from that game..plus some.

I predict a Texas upset, by a FG.

It would tickle the flying snot out of me if Bama lost !! Probably won’t. Some will say “Where’s your SEC loyalty “ ?? Gone. A long time ago. I’m ALL Dawgs fan.

And there are certain teams I loathe. In no particular order of malice they are Bama, Florida, ****Auburn, Tenn, SC and GT. Other teams I see as rivals, no love for, but no particular malice.

Almost feel more Sympathy than malice for the Bugs…….Not !!! I still despise them !!! Auburn holds a special place in the Malice Hall Of Fame for stunts like turning the fire hydrants on our fans, trying to commit homocide on A. Murray though that can be blamed Much More on the officials. I thought for a while there they were gonna let Idiot-Named-Suh kill Murray on live TV. After Suh had All but killed Murray they Finally threw One penalty flag. What is their mascot a Tigger or a Warped Eagle ??

I despise Saban (Mr. Arrogance) and the primarily Arrogant Bama fans.Man thinks he’s to good to even smile !!

Gators are well………Mud Lizards. They stink they just can’t help it. Plenty of stored up malice for them.

If I ever have food poisoning and need my stomach pumped just take me to that obnoxious Cow Pasture they call a football field in Knoxville with the puke orange checker board and have to listen to Good Ole Snotty Top a thousand times in one game.

With the new HC it’s harder for me to hold on to malice for the GameCocks……..Not !!! I remember Dr.Lou and his smug azz and later The Ole Ball Bag Spurrier and his Arrogant self.

Dishonorable mention goes to LSWho !! Though they don’t rank as high on my malice meter their on there for sure. Did I miss anybody ??

You Could have Vandy on there when Franklin was their HC saying he didn’t know Why or That his guys were diving for our O line players ankles !! What’s Your malice meter ?? 😀 Go Dawgs !! Oh I’d be remiss if I didn’t cite these teams: OSU, Michigan, and not as bad in recent times Notre Dame. Mainly because their in the top five come hell or high water Every year !! The ESPN Control People oops I mean the polls people Finally gave up on ND though I’m sure very reluctantly.

Correction on my previous post. If my old and tired memory serves it was Farley that kept Late hitting and even body slammed Murray. Still no love for Suh from me. Him and Farley same cut of cloth.

Lol...that was pretty good, there, Navy.

I'm on board with everything...but, Tech. I've always been a big Tech Fan [too]. That was my Dad's team. Lol...he had a lamp made out of a Tech Helmet, for mine and my Brother's bedroom when I was about 8 or 9. But, by-god...we had a UGA bedspread and Falcon sheets. Not to mention all the other paraphernalia. Lmao

BTW...Tech actually has a team, this year. Haynes King is the QB...and, he's throwing to two former Dawgs...Dom Blaylock and Brett Seither. Just, thought you might want to know.

Sailors and haters....Navydawg, We might be brothers! To all....Texas will win for one very important reason....DGD, Adonai Mitchel......if ex-dawg JT Daniels can hang 10 on the Tide, Quinn and Adonai will surf all the way to the beach!.......Sark will out coach Nick and his newbees and the Pachyderm Party will end with a Tuscaloosa Two step to the song, Friends In LOW Places!

I think it would be HUGE...if Texas Fans stormed the field after beating Bama...in Tuscaloosa. Marking the end of an Era of Tide dominance, "In Style". They could "fine" Bama for it. Not sure, the BIG12 has a penalty for "Storming the field".

Course...they might have to fight their way back off the field when it's all said & done. But, hey...it's football. Lol

@GtheGreek @BigDawg61 Ah Fair Winds and Following Seas to my Navy Brothers !! Yeah I had a Uncle (USAF Vietnam Vet) that I loved and respected ( deceased) that was a big GT fan. He loved to pick at me and my two brothers ( both of them also Navy vets, I’m one of three !!) when GT would get the win.

We put some dead yellow jackets in a match box and a Sympathy card saying RIP after we beat his Jackets one year !! 😂. Y’all are like me I can Clearly remember when games with GT, KY, and even Vandy were a battle !! And NO WAY could we beat both UF and TN in the same year !!!

Only in our dreams would we think we’d be B2B Champs !!! So we should savor the flavor and Enjoy all the Good things going on at UGA !! Thanks for your service my Brothers !! Go Dawgs !!

Oh just as a note I had broken service but total of 8 years. I was early 1976 ( graduated HS in 75) to late 1985, but not consecutive as like I said I got out for a couple of years. I’m one of three brothers Navy. I’m the middle brother. Younger brother retired after he had got out a while. Older brother had 8 years. My younger brother and I were actually on the same ship our first enlistment !! And we’d see our older brother in Norfolk from time to time but for some strange reason never saw him in the Med. He was on the Saratoga. He’d be in the Med at the same time as us but just never saw him in a port of call. Go Dawgs !! Go Navy !!

I don't think Texas has the playmakers on offense to put up enough points against BAMA. RIce couldn't do squat on offense(looked totally inept with JT as the QB he literlly had no time to throw and no athletic looking receivers to throw to) but go 3 and out, and Texas didn't do much offensively against Rice( even with all the possessions) at least early on, it was just 16-3 at the half. No way Saban loses to them again, not in Tuscaloosa.

I just watched a piece of the Bama vs MTS....and, I tell you now...if Alabama gets called for half the "Holding", "Block in the Back" and other various penalties I saw them commit against MTS, with impunity...they're in trouble. The offensive line is STILL atrocious. They were getting away with murder and hands full of jersey.

Reminded me of some of the "Bama Games of old"...where the opposition had to beat Bama bad enough to take the Refs out of the game. A few long runs and scores, would have been called back, with an honest and attentive officiating crew.

Looks like the "powers that be" at ESPN are determined that Bama is gonna be back, this year. But, from what I saw...they're gonna have to "Cheat like Hell" to do it. You know...the way they used to do. Lol

Texas most definitely has what it takes to beat them...even in Tuscaloosa. As long as the Refs call a clean game. Those will be the guys to watch [Referees], Saturday night. IMO

  • reddawg1reddawg1 Posts: 3,873 ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

I will say this; I don't know if texas's front four are that good or if Rices' OL was just that bad, but if they can pressure the BAMA QB the way they did JT, then they have a shot. ANd from what you say the BAMA OLine is"atrocious." So, maybe you're right.

  • BigDawg61BigDawg61 Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭✭✭ Graduate

Yeah....looks like they picked up a few "tricks" to help with their blocking. Lol. I look for some of those "explosive plays" to get called back, Saturday...assuming they have some.

You know darn well, the Texas coaching staff, sees the same thing, I see. If I was Sark...I'd have a conversation with the field umpire and line judge, before the game. But...that's just me.
