TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Former Georgia teammates Jermaine Burton and Adonai Mitchell will share the same field today when Alabama meets Texas in a Top 10 showdown.

@MikeGriffith ...I don't think there's a Dawg Fan alive, that will forget their contributions. We'll support those guys to the end....unless, they're playing UGA. Which is appearing more and more likely, at the end of the season.
But, I tell you this...leaving Rosemy-Jacksaint off your little "list of current receivers", is a huge mistake. That kid is better than Burton or Mitchell was, when "they" were in Athens. IMO
@BigDawg61 Understand -- McConkey and Bowers were preseason All-SEC picks, hence, "returning stars"
MRJ Is an important part of the corps, but I'd stop short of calling him a star to this point in his career -- although someone could argue all the players are stars if they play on a two-time championship team!
I agree w/ Mike, regarding MRJ, in terms of national vantage point and what makes a stat WR. But inside of Kirby’s expectations he’s as good as they come. He’s reliable, mostly stays healthy since his fracture, incredibly selfless and physical run blocker, and has been loyal to the program. Most importantly tho, I don’t remember a drop on a catchable ball that’s come his way. Perfect example of beauty being in the eye of the beholder
True...but, here's the thing, Mike. I'm starting to see Kirby's Dawgs, as more than just a College Football team, with all the "Stats Hype" that goes with it. They have become a "school for future professional football players and coaches",...that just happens to have a "football team". That's why they are able to keep players like BVG and Stockton, on the roster....IMO.
Everybody gets reps...everybody plays. If you start losing reps...maybe you consider transfer to get more playing time. But, there's a reason for "losing reps". The guys behind you last year...passed you this year...or...you've just about maxed out the talent God gave you, and have nowhere to go, but, down.
Kirby has redefined, the process of "player evaluation". The usual Stats don't apply to "UGA Player Evaluation"...IMO. Not like they did back in the day. Heck...not like they did 3 or 4 years ago, for that matter. Everything in Kirby's System, is specialized and focused.
I.E., typically the Dawgs will have personnel packages for various plays...sometimes, different plays out of the same look. It looks like chaos to us...but, it's a symphony on the field. I love what I'm seeing.
That being said...I don't know, if or when we'll ever see another traditional "Stat Star" on the Bulldogs roster. The QB has the best shot at that...if, half of their games are close, and he has to stay in, the whole game.
I often wonder, how Herschel Walker, would have been used in "today's game". Lol...would he be a DB or RB....OR, receiver?. Hard to say, huh. Lol

Sometimes I wonder, where would he be in his development...if not for that injury. I expect him to make his mark, this year. He could be...very special...if, he's healthy.
Injury seems to be a common issue, with some of these WR's, today. Maybe it's because UGA (etal.) requires more blocking out of their WR's than before.
Milton has absolutely NO vision for "The running lane". Mews has the best "vision" of all of em...and. knows how to use it. Bell's not bad, either. I think we're getting a good look at "next year's offense". IMO
This is the second week that Beck's accuracy has been "suspect". Do we chalk it up to "nerves and unfamiliarity with new receivers"? He has ALL DAY to throw. That concerns me. His ball placement isn't consistently where it should be on multiple passes...this week and last. Course...in some cases, the receiver has been the issue...with drops, routes or aggressiveness/physicality.
Again...unfamiliarity? Hard to tell with this practice game BS. Sloppy ball handling by a few guys. Undisciplined..."occasionally". Again...hard to tell with so many different players moving in and out.
Can't wait to see em play, with a "W" on the line. This is frustrating to watch. Lol
