Not sure what Connor was watching. The D line got no pressure, had no sacks and 1 TFL. It also gave up far too many 4 yard or longer runs on first down, which allowed Ball State to eat up clock in the first quarter. As far as Beck goes, the O-line opened no holes for the running backs and his receivers had a number of unforced errors. He was clearly an A and the difference between him and the other QB’s on the roster is significant.

Gotta say, my biggest concern is the line of scrimmage. In the past two years we’ve controlled that. This year I have not seen the evidence of that yet.

one peculiar thing I’ve noticed this year, no dawg fan has been very pleased with our performances over the past two games, but Kirby hasn’t been losing his mind on the sidelines. 🤔

He is still the same coach who was blowing up SB at halftime up 27-3 on Michigan. It makes me wonder what is going on behind the curtain. I mean I’ve been losing my mind watching these games but Kirby has been the calmest I have ever seen him.

either way, hope we get all the bad play out of the way now and unleash chaos on everyone here in out.

    go dawgs!

Have to agree. The O line isn’t forcing it’s will on anyone and we saw last night in that Bama/Texas game and in the past 2 DAWG seasons, the line of scrimmage is what decides games. I get teams have stacked the box the last 2 games but it isn’t like those have been the types of defenses for the remainder of the season. Hoping it is just the newness of the group playing together because on paper, they are playing well below their potential. Hoping to put it all together Saturday against the Lamecocks - Go DAWGS.

When you're playing a B team a lot of times you give a B effort. This week will tell the tale with S.C.

Ya know, this old boy is not really concerned with scoring this past effort. Neither is Kirby. One commenter is right, he is as calm as I have seen him...almost too calm. I suspicion a whole nother playbook for SC. No more vanilla. He will likely have an almost full roster back in play. Just speculating. I will venture to say you will see a new look and new football team. Certainly he knows the present situation is not sustainable. Just my opinion. He plays to the competition...most of the time.

JUst not sure what to make of the D-line and O-line. THey haven't impressed yet. Haven't seen the stats but to my eye it looked like they ran better against us than we ran against them. Let me check, nope, we walloped them 99 to 77 in rushing! Same amount of attempts! Good thing we have the best O-line in the country! Or do we even have a good one? If so, where have they been? - you can't make this stuff up.

Longest run was 14 yards? Wasn't Bell's TD run 21 yards? Lined up as a RB. Direct handoff.

I think they need to try some other people on the Oline. They aren't pushing people around much or the scheme with Bobo is wrong compared to last year.
