ATHENS — Mykel Williams made it very clear this was a different Georgia defense in the second half than what South Carolina faced in the first half.

Myself is a DGD and has already saved Georgia’s Hyde several times this season. He is dynamic and is only going to get better as this is only his 18th game of his true sophomore season! What a talent that dude is!

Hey Connor, I liked the article. Well done. (Nice Billy Madison reference) But you don't need to use a decimal when referring to the number of sacks the team got. It's not possible for the team to end up with anything but a whole number - either the defense sacks the quarterback, or they don't.

We need Bullard back. David Daniel looked lost the whole game and Dan Jackson is not the standard needed to play in a Kirby defense. I believe Glen, Will and Kirby will adjust. Go Dawgs!!

@Louis8478 I disagree on Dan Jackson. He may not be a 5 star but he goes full on the whole time he’s in and has the same heart as Bennett did.

    that goes a long way.

In the second half the defense looked like the 2021 and 2022 defenses. But they need that intensity for four quarters in every game to compare with the shutdown defenses of the past two years.

Agree. Jackson is solid - is he Bullard, no, but he is very solid. David Daniel played pretty well I thought. He was late on a couple and on the long reception, he could’ve had a break-up if he had timed his jump, but they are definitely not the problem.

Also, love the example of Williams’ high football IQ in how he pulled up on the play with Rattler. That does show some tremendous maturity and control to not just unload on the QB and cost your team 15-yards. Really excited about Williams and some of the other young D players. Go DAWGS

Bottom line is Dan and David have to play better. The mistakes mentioned like late on a couple of throws and missed timed breakups could have easily cost us the game. Bennett could miss a throw or two and the defense would bail us out. Missed coverages, miss timed breakups or tackles can cost us the game especially with the offense learning their way. Just get better. Go Dawgs!!
