Jacksaint has been very strong this year and I really like how he goes and gets the ball. Very strong hand strength. This team seems to truly be without a very strong component and will need the contribution of everyone to reach post-season success I believe. In the past, some units could have an off day and the other could pick it up; I think all are needed for success with this group. Not a bad thing, but seemingly less room for error as the schedule tightens up. The kicking game does concern me a bit with the missed FGs and it sure seems like a lack of confidence from the coaching staff towards that. Go DAWGS and beat Auburn.

Warren Brinson brought back memories of the past two defensive units, and those are sweet memories!

    Loser- O-line coaching??

WAtching Oregon's O-line against Colorado was a thing of beauty. THe running lanes they open is what I long for UGA to have. Not sure what the problem is but it's just night and day. I was watching that game and I was like"oh that's what a running lane looks like".

HAs ORegon recruited at a higher level at O-line than we have? Was UAB a more formidable opponent than a 3-0 Colorado team? I think not. THere were times in the Oregon game that the ORegon RB had his choice of wide open lanes to run in. Is it our scheme? THe coaching?

How often do our RB's hit the line of scrimmage untouched and you think, he's going to take this to the house? Almost never!

I saw that happen multiple times with ORegon RB's in just watching the first half of their game.

I wouldn't want to play ORegon tomorrow. Good thing we don't have to.

The Ny Carr thing stinks. But Moultrie is 65 miles from Tallahassee: barely an hour's car trip. It is 225 miles from Athens. Plus it isn't just high school teammates. Tons of south Georgia kids go to Tallahassee for school - in addition to FSU there is FAMU, a community college and a technical school - plus to find jobs. With Albany's decline, Tallahassee is the closest "big city" to south Georgia. So just like it is hard to get Columbus area kids away from Auburn (45 miles versus 175 miles away) when the Tigers aren't cannon fodder, FSU is going to be a challenge for south Georgia kids whenever the Seminoles are good. Another thing: UGA doesn't work the south Georgia recruiting circuit the way that they did when Dooley, Goff and Donnan were coach. Meaning that it has been more than 20 years - before most of the south Georgia kids getting recruited today were born - since south Georgia recruits like Kirby Smart were a big factor in Athens, so kids down there don't have expectations of going to UGA for the most part. Meanwhile FSU has continued to work south Georgia for players that Smart and Richt didn't want, even if a lot of that was due to FSU not being good enough to do any better.

Kirby Smart at UGA and Dabo Swinney at Clemson have benefitted from Auburn, Tennessee, FSU, Florida, South Carolina and Miami being down. While UGA has clearly had a lot to do with their struggles, a lot of it has also been self-inflicted. This FSU coach may actually be the real deal. If so, Kirby is going to have to make a decision on the approach to south Georgia recruiting. Going forward, swooping in just to cherry pick the few top 150 prospects that show up down there isn't going to work. Smart is either going to have to make a regular effort down there or just cede that territory to the Florida schools who need those players a lot more than UGA does. And note that these "Florida schools" now include new Big 12 member UCF.

We need that “must be double teamed” defensive lineman to emerge. Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt was that in 2021, Jalen Carter was in 2022. A D-lineman that must be double teamed can free up the line backer(s) to cause havoc for the opponents running game. Hopefully Brinson or Williams can become that guy.

    GO DAWGS!
