UGA has only to keep winning to remain at the top. Most of UGA's remaining opponents are ranked...excluding FL and GA Tech.

From my post on the Forum page:

The Bulldogs’ current 23-game SEC win streak is bettered only by Paul “Bear” Bryant’s 1976-80 Tide teams (28) and Steve Spurrier’s 1994-97 Florida Gators (24).”

How awesome will it be to tie the ‘ol ball sack’s record of consecutive SEC game win streak at 24 games in Jacksonville two weeks from now while shutting them out and breaking their consecutive game scoring streak at the same time!?

Gawd, I hope he is there to see it!

    Go Dawgs! Hate on floriduh!

Curious how Washington received absolutely no benefit from beating Oregon yesterday. Contrast that with how FSU and Texas leaped up the polls for beating Bama and Florida, and Oklahoma doing the same for beating Texas.

Florida could be ranked, by the time UGA plays em. Ole Miss, Mizzou and Tennessee may NOT be ranked....and GT may be ranked, as they've improved every week, this season.

There's just no tellin'...which is why today's speculation [in CFB], is virtually useless, and always turns into tomorrow's disappointment....to those that take stock in it.

IMO..."Speculation", statistics & rankings, are fun and pretty good tools for analysis by "media & fans"...but, NOT always. Especially, when it comes to teams like UGA, Bama and OSU. There is so much depth and "hidden talent" on those teams, that you never know just how good and efficient they are...until they play each other or an obviously "equal" team.

For instance...as great as Bowers is...there are explosive players, like Lucky and Spurlin, that haven't seen much action. They could be as explosive as Bowers, in other ways [speed, quickness...whatever]. A team like UGA...always has a 2 or 3 deep contingency plan. With Bowers out, it's a minor speed bump...but, a sprain shouldn't keep him out, longer than 2 or 3 weeks, if that.

The players and coaching staff know this....which is why they "really don't" think about it. Too busy between games. However...I'm sure it'll come up during this bye-week. Every UGA Coach I can remember, has always said, that winning the SEC is the goal...because they are "in control" of that destiny. Winning a Natty is in the hands of the media (popularity contest).

Indeed...you can hear the "talking heads" and "pencil pushers" proving that to be true, every Saturday. Lol...you saw a prime example, if you watched the Colorado Buffs get beat Friday night and heard the "announcers". It was hilarious. .

Hmmm...let's take a closer look at the Dawg's schedule SEC wins thus far...

The Dawgs were sleepwalking through much of the afternoon against Vandy yesterday, and a lackluster performance against Auburn doesn’t look any better after the Tigers were pummeled by LSU. Throw in the fact that dominating Kentucky also looks less impressive after the Wildcats were soundly beaten by Missouri. SOOO I'm still not sure what to think of these Dawgs.

Polls don't matter...yet. First CFP ranking comes out on Halloween after we play the Gators.

The proof in the Dawg's pudding comes in November...

The proof in the Dawg's pudding comes in November...”

    Yes! ^^^^^^!!!

Let us continue to win by whatever means necessary…..one game at a time!

    Go Dawgs! GO43N23!!

Wins in November are the ones you remember.

Gauntlet coming up without our biggest star. Hopefully Luckie and Delp can get it done.

Bdw3184, you can count on "the ole ball sack" being there....he wouldn't miss an opportunity to gloat over Kirby in the event that the Gators got really lucky and The Dawgs forgot to get off the bus.....until then it's "HEAL & FOCUS".....FOCUS & HEAL......A win gives us another glorious year of "G8R H8R" splendor! I have no doubt our walking wounded....Bowers, McConkey, Milton, and Xavier will all see snaps in Jax......likewise those "No Names" keep rising to the top like rich cream.....Freeling, Spurlin, Luckie, Bah, Hughley, Greene, Big Baby, Jones, Paul, Harris, and Wilson....who's next????
