With all the upcoming DL departures, I'm a little surprised JJ doesn't stick around to see if 2024 could be his year as an impact DL here. Go Dawgs!

On the 1st day of the '23 TP (post season) the TP is already flooded with players. Especially at QB. The QB musical chairs will not end well for everybody. But the flooding (w/MANY more to come) of the TP means 2 things. 1) ANY team will be able to substantially upgrade their talent level or fill holes (cherry pick) a la Deion's '23 quick fix. 2) there will be players in the TP that can help UGA shore up its deficiencies. Places like DT and S will need to be addressed in the TP.

NOW the question in the TP is "what will be the cost"? Is the TP now strictly a financial transaction marketplace? Maybe not in every case but probably in most cases like NFL FA. Like NFL FA there may be "bargains" after the top players have been picked over.

But the financial nature/evolution of the TP places a high priority on UGA landing the 2 JC DL (Taylor, Hamlin) that visited UGA earlier in the season. These 2 players commitments might be held up while UGA evaluates and weighs accepting these 2 players or TP DL players. It will be interesting to see who UGA cherry picks from the TP and who wants to come to UGA for NFL caliber development.

With a full class of incoming freshmen is there room for transfers?

Interesting to know that this guy was available. All I heard was how thin we were at DL. THen this guy enters the portal. I guess thin is a relative term, meaning number of guys we feel confident in throwing out there.

Go get the big Defensive Tackle from Texas A&M. And Hire the Fomer Florida Defensive back coach. So you get the 5 star safety out of Texas.

Unfortunately(fortunately?) , CFB is not Fantasy Football. Walter Nolen scored big when he signed w/aTm. Guys have wised up and now look to "double dip" from the fountain of NIL. Why we see the TP flooded on day 1.

Nolen will likely be at his next destination only 1 year before he declares for the NFL. Is that worth a big payday? Just doesn't seem like the UGA way. Culture still matters at UGA.
