Since it's the best option I've got, I'm excited for this game against FSU. The 'Noles are one of those teams I've kept in my pocket for a long time as one to root for. Way back in 6th Grade, before I knew anything about college football, I was gifted a shirt (from an aunt from Florida) that had one of them lousy, no good, stinkin' lizards on it, in orange with some blue. My band teacher, Mr. Bob Willing (a great dude), looked at me when I came in to the band room and said, "that's the Florida team that we DON'T cheer for here." I didn't know what he was talking about (my family were baseball people, not football people), but I never wore that shirt again. I soon learned that the Seminoles were just fine to cheer for. Once I actually learned a little something, and because Mr. Willing was who he was, I made the assumption that he was a UGA grad. Still, because of the way things played out, I've always held a respect for F State.
Well. Fast forward to less than a year ago... Turns out I was wrong, and Mr. Willing was a 'Nole all along!! Just a 'Nole who happened to be pretty big on these DAWGS!!! (My school mascot was the bulldog, so that may have had something to do with it, but I doubt it.)
Anyhow, this should make for an interesting match-up, and Sanders was right.
Aside from that... let's get on with next season!!!
I just read from a site that since Brock V. left UGA that Carson Beck is now asking for $4 million to play in the Orange Bowl and remain another year!!!! What? He figures that a NFL Round 2 draft pick would pay him that much if he were selected! This is crazy. True? The source is said to be credible UGA reporter source. I was shocked. Carson does not seem the type, but then this may be his agent. Don't k*i*ll the messenger..this is what I just read on Youtube..guy named Torres. I cannot believe it myself.
The 4M thing has been going around. I hadn’t heard much re: timeline and lead-ups.
What I can say is this: y’all remember when Jake Fromm, a true Freshman led us to the NC game because he was so well-coached and surrounded by talent?
I don’t even know who all the talent IS for next year, what with 60% of the O-line drafting out, and our receiving corps getting decimated (at least as it currently seems), but I have no doubts Coach Smart will fill the gaps.
Rebuilding-schmebuilding.
That mean machine in red and black keeps pumping out new material.
Only catch, as I’ve said before, is we’ve GOT to get some beef up front. LITERALLY fill the gaps. We didn’t really have the size up front this year in the O- or D-lines. D backs and O skill players were elite, but didn’t have the buffers that’ve made us comfortable.
Obvi not my decision to make. And I respect Carson's skills and what he did for us this year. But, if 4m is true, I'd rather we move on and start building a QB talent that has several years to play for us with Gunnar. Just my opinion and it has nothing to do with Carson's skills but everything to do with an aversion to blackmail.
Jake Fromm was a limited QB and I would hate to go back to that. Everybody gets NIL money especially QBs. I would not rule out Carson based on money. We cannot have an inexperience QB going to Bama and Texas next year because of money.
With Raiola and Puglisi inbound Gunnar doesn't have several years.
Neon Deion was a great college and pro safety. For those of you to young to remember him as a player, he played for FSU. For him to say UGA got shafted means a lot. The BCP ended the threepeat. UGA and Bama are currently the two best teams in the country and UGA would have beat them in the championship game just like two years ago.
