I am satisfied with both of them. Hulu includes Disney+ and ESPN+, Paramount+ must watch Joe Pickett, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown
You-Tube. Switched from Charter/Spectrum when they lost ESPN at start of college football season. Have all major networks plus a bunch more worthwhile channels. Can record multiple programs live simultaneously. Very satisfied so far. Still have C/S for internet, but considering T-Mobile. Probably switch in February when C/S “special” internet rates are due to increase. Good luck!
We have YouTube TV. Put whatever shows we want in the library and watch them whenever we want.

I live on a dirt road in very rural south GA. They are in the process of running fiber at the moment. I couldn’t believe it, I’m pretty excited!!!
@ghostofuga1 I’ve ran into the same problem with Direct. I like their service but it has absolutely become too expensive, when there are seemingly much cheaper options. I’m close to making a change also. Haven’t decided exactly what yet, but as soon as I switch to fiber I’m going to switch to something different. My best friend keeps telling me how much he loves YouTube TV. Definitely going to look into that.
Don’t hesitate once it’s available. I tell everyone that has access to fiber they need to get it and not even think about it
Don't know if it's still available but a few months back, Peacock aka Paramount+ offered me a years subscription for $24. Jumped on that deal as it helps fill the void when I cancel Hulu live in a few weeks. Might add that Hulu live has gone up to $85 a month. Gone are the good ol days of just a few years ago when it was half that.

we have Hulu live. It’s been great and haven’t missed a thing. You can get unlimited devices too which is good for us and like being able to watch on tablet or phone when traveling too. Never miss a big sports event. And it automatically saves you favorite teams so I never have to record a Georgia game. We do have fiber at home though. We cut the home phone and the cable but have high speed fiber with Hulu. Saved us about 150 a month with no drop off
I switched to YouTube TV a year ago because of price. I pay 59.95 for same channels I paid 150 for with direct. A little loss of some of the functionality of the direct box, but nothing I can’t live with
Streaming options are definitely in the wild west stage. The options will get better in time, but we aren't there yet. Several key issues: one is that they are mostly packaged deals, and you end up with 100 channels you will never watch and three key channels (like CBS) that you don't get. There is no way to add a la carte for the most part. Another problem is that they vary locally. You can read reviews and they tell you the service is awesome and they provide local channels. You go to their sites and they show the networks being in the package. Then you type in your particular zip code and you find out that you don't get the channels you want at your house.
Although it might not be a good option in rural areas, we put up a nice, $150 UHF antenna in the attic and then added a VHF add-on, basically pre-designed "rabbit ears." I was shocked by how many channels I received, and how well it worked, and I added an over the air (OTA) TIVO for DVR. Works beautifully, all of the locals and a bunch of other channels to boot. The hardest part was fishing the cable. Then, we added FRNDLY TV for about $100 a year, a family friendly service that adds most of the popular programming from the last 60 years with a cloud based DVR. We record the shows we want and then use the DVR to skip the commercials. Then we do some of the other services like Netflix and Prime. I also added a sports package on a service for football season. Smart TVs integrate it all very well, but there is a learning curve to be mastered.
We get internet and most of the channels we had on cable for about $115/mo. less than what we paid the cable monopoly. I would still be with the cable company, but the customer service was so bad I couldn't take it any longer. They raised my rates unilaterally once or twice a year and blamed it on fees and taxes and talking to their CS in India was like being tortured. The only thing we don't get now are some of the cable news networks. We just check the news on the ones we want on their websites. It's working out great, but it was a learning process.
In February 2023 I cut the Spectrum Cable and never looked back. I'm happy with VseeBox Android TV box. There's no DVR so U cannot record, and U cannot pause live TV, but they have 50+/- channels that keeps 7 days of aired programs, and U can select the program or game to watch. Example: I was out of town in September and unable to watch Georgia game. I returned after 5 days and watched the game. The VseeBox comes fully loaded with over 2K Free TV channels with more sports channels U will ever watch. Over 43K free movies, over 11K TV Series programs. U must have adequate bandwidth and modem and router sufficient for streaming. I have 300mb bandwidth, ASUS ET8 router (2 pack) and free modem from Spectrum. My bill went from $250/month to $49/month. I procured router, and VseeBox from Amazon. If interested, check them out at
