Blame the current system. With subjective criteria and group think, money and politics will rule the decisions. Every year some team is robbed. Opening up to more schools next year will help, but still some team(s) will be left out that may have legitimate complaints. That said, should we go back to letting AP writers and then college coaches decide and possibly end up with Co Champs. Probably not. I have moved on and now waiting for the Orange Bowl. Not a bad spot for the players and recruits in South Florida. Keep our heads up and focus on momentum for next year and putting the best team on the field. Great chance for a lot of players to show talent and make their claims for 2024.

I believe the Michigan/ Alabama matchup is a dream-come- true for the media. The Alabama/ Texas rematch will be the icing on their cake, but those high- brow Northeastern media folks are desperate to see one of their darlings (Michigan, Ohio State, and ND) take down an SEC Champion. I don’t think it happens this year, I think the SECCG was the defacto National Championship Game!

Folks, the SEC Championship was the national championship. The invitational selections by the committee of fools is nothing more than granting the wishes of ESPN. I doubt I will watch the 2 semi invitational games nor the final invitational. See sentence #1 as to why. I don't care about FSU. I only care that our program uses this time to get ready for next year. The clock is ticking on the Clemson match up and there is no time to waste.
I agree that FSU was not one of the top four best NCAA football teams this year. Heck, they probably weren't in the top ten even before losing their starting quarterback. That said, I think that FSU should have been selected as the fourth team in the CFP because they closed out the season undefeated and won the ACC championship. It's a good thing the CFP is ending this year because it is a totally political machine that protects its favorites, particularly Michigan, Alabama, and Ohio State. FSU really needs to get their heads straight quickly or even a Georgia team that is losing a big number of players to the NFL or the transfer portal will totally expose and embarrass them in their home state of Florida. Georgia will run circles around FSU as long as Bobo doesn't have a relapse and forgets what Todd Monken taught him.

Let it play out on the field not in an office full of hypocrites. If Alabama only lost came in the SECCG by three points, they probably would have gotten in the final four. Another issue is that it's football, a brutal sport. What are the chances of not getting injured during the course of the season. The committee is full of rubbish. Yet, it's all about money and I'm sure their thinking was another year with UGA in the championship game would cost views. The sports media will continue to try and push it aside because it's their job to move on. They shouldn't hate on the fans if they continue to protest. Go Dawgs!!

I agree, and a great comment! It really sticks in the craw of those big10 fans, school administrators, coaches, and anyone associated with their football programs ,whey can't beat a SEC team in a high profile game, where the winner takes all.
Mike, your arguments are missing the bigger point. As I've previously expressed on this site, the real issue is the blatant favoritism toward Bama in this process. There is not an argument to be made for including Bama that wouldn't require also including either FSU or Georgia. Since there isn't room in the 4-team field to include such a package deal, the committee had no business bringing Bama in at the last minute the way they did. Clearing out both FSU and Georgia to make room for Bama is logically and ethically indefensible.
It was not a tough task. In the history of the playoff, this was probably the easiest final decision the committee has ever had to make. Michigan (since apparently there won't be any consequences for the cheating), Washington, FSU, Texas. Simple. It only got tricky when they started asking, how can we get Bama in there?
Nah, because Texas would still be in over FSU.
If Georgia had beaten the team that can’t beat us without ref help, they would’ve had 2 losses and Texas’s win over them would’nt have been as impressive and fsu would have gotten in and Georgia would be playing them in the sugar bowl instead of the orange bowl.
