ATHENS — Kirby Smart might be the best coach in college football, but he’s not above having some good-natured fun at the expense of the great success he has created.

Can we shift the conversation from fast, expensive cars to hungry, driven athletes? When I go the sports section, I want to see and read about athletes improving their game and their team, and will go to Car and Driver magazine to quench my automotive thirst. Yeah I know, Kirby jokingly brought it up, though but a fraction of the comments he made about the state of the team. There's just something a little uneasy for me when highlighting Georgia players and fast cars, or the out-of-control financial world of college athletics. Go Dawgs!
Just hope Beck plays like a professional QB-Beck, think Mahomes!
Just hope Beck doesn’t sign any jerseys and sell ‘em. That got Todd Gurley suspended for what - 4 games?
Since we can't post under Sentel's articles here goes. If we can get a silent commitment out of Ju Ju that's great but if not and Zollers was ready to commit I would gladly take him and call it a day at QB.
Sorry, Folks, I'd like to retract my earlier comment above. This topic just kind of struck a nerve for me at the time, but I realize others find topics interesting or entertaining that I don't... and I respect that. Go Dawgs!
Agreed. I've never gotten a good vibe about the JuJu situation anyway, from beginning to now. Of course that predicts zip. But I'll be thrilled if he comes, perfectly content if he doesn't and a serious dawger fills that spot. Go Dawgs!
I have no problem with the point of the article and Kirby's joke was certainly timely, but I can't believe this article went on for 14 -- count 'em, FOURTEEN -- paragraphs before it even mentioned Carson Beck's name. And it was another two paragraphs after that before noting that Beck actually drives a Lamborghini. Talk about burying the lead. Sheesh!
