Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Kirby Smart lists one of his Athens homes for sale
A piece of Georgia football history is up for sale with a hefty price tag.

How is a private residence considered part of UGA Football history? The house has nothing to do with UGA Football history. The only ties to UGA the house has..it was occupied by a UGA Head Coach, nothing more.
Pretty strong ROI if he gets it. Purchased under $1M
Could be a strong signal that the realestate market is in for a down turn. Like dumping stocks.
How things have changed….."hunting lodge"……yep, 100 years ago this whole area south to the Middle Oconee was packed with deer, turkey, dove, quail, a bear here and there……Yep, in 1920 the woods were full of Gamecocks, Stormy Petrels, Purple Hurricanes, Brown Bulldogs, Gators, Tigers, Pachyderms and pesky Yeller Jackets…..thanks to first year Coach Stegeman, and The Dawgs were undefeated and the tradition of "The Hunt" got its start……Coach Smart has built the tradition and added every game "The Dawgs will always be the HUNTERS"! GOOOO DAWGS, SICEM!
@gbal They put in a tremendous amount of money into the property. I honestly thought the AA bought it as an added bonus to Smart and was being kept strictly for recruiting.
Not likely. Everyone for the last 2-3 years has predicted a 2008-like downturn, but it never happened. The housing market is still thriving and prices are still going up. It's not crazy like 2021 and 22, but it's outpacing pre-covid years. My wife is one of the top Realtors in the Florida panhandle and can barely keep up with business right now (I'm a Realtor also, but only on the side as my wife's m.onkey-boy…). She's on track for a personal record year in 2024. Interest rates are coming down and expected to drop about another point this year, getting rates back to where it was for decades prior to Covid (around 5%).
Who knows why Kirby is selling. Could be a million different reasons. Maybe he just wants to flip it and buy something else.
BTW, if any of you or your friends are considering moving to the Pensacola area or just interested in buying a beach property, hit me up. My wife is a bit of a celebrity among the local Realtors.
