Great work on the details, Mike! But Lawd have mercy, that's a lot to take in. I read the entire article and my brain exploded! It was just so much simpler having 2 divisions and a champion from each division. I hope we go back to this format, but I understand it's not perfect either. Just win and we'll be fine, I reckon.
GO DAWGS!
BEAT CLEMSON!
So, basically, bookmark this article for December and read ONLY as needed…HA!
after reading a few paragraphs I decided to start scrolling. And continued scrolling until Christmas. I’ll just have to —A trust the Dawgs will rise above all tie breakers. Or B Just go with what dawgnation tells me in December. Thanks Mike for the effort.
With the winner of the SECCG getting a first round bye and still having to play 15 games to win it all, and the loser having to play a 16th game to win it all, the team that loses out in the 2nd place tiebreaker probably has the easiest path to the Natty. At least they won't have to risk injury playing another elite SEC team for a meaningless conference title.
Just tell me who we’re playing and what time the game starts…Go Dawgs!
You're off by 1 game. The winner of the SECCG will have to play 16 games to win the natty. The loser of the SECCG would have to play 17 games to win the natty.
Whoever wrote this is, definitely getting paid by the word.
Did anyone follow that?
😂
An interesting situation is if you have a one loss team, let’s say Texas, in the SECG. They are confident of being in the National playoffs. Will the conference championship mean enough or will they consider resting players?
I think you wanna win and get that first round bye for sure.
Gosh Mike, to use your favourite word—-that's "MASSIVE".
