Georgia was picked to win the SEC at last month’s SEC media days. The overall team talent is a big reason why.

I can’t believe CJ Allen isn’t getting some recognition. Did these so called “experts” not see him play last year? He will be on the post season All SEC team and probably All-American lists, too.
They overlooked CJ Allen and Peyton Woodring, but I'm betting those two guys will be on one of those teams by the end.
I probably would've reversed the order of Truss and Greene, but it's nice to see four of our offensive linemen on the three teams.
Other than that, it's kind of hard to find fault when 15 of our starters are expected to be All-SEC.
These are dishonest polls [typical]. They had to throw Oklahoma and Texas a welcoming bone....and, pay the usual homage to the "Bammers & Tigers"....which took away from other, more deserving players.
Take a look at last year's "SEC 1st Team". You'll find a few familiar names on there, that are on the 2nd or 3rd team...this year. Lol...how did that happen?. I have No Faith in these polls. None.
If they [pollsters] were being honest....the Dawgs would have 10 or 12 players, on the 1st Team, alone. But, they can't do that. We can't be honest and truthful anymore...cause it might hurt somebody's "feelings". Lol
I'm not saying, the guys they selected are the wrong guys,...yet. I'm just saying that every December...a "hindsight spotlight" shines on The Preseason All-American and All-Sec teams.
And, the question that ALWAYS seems to loom, is.…"How did they miss the Dawgs that are gonna be drafted in the 1st or 2nd round of the NFL Draft....not to mention the 2022 #1 Overall...Trayvon Walker.". They always leave a few deserving Dawgs off, to make room for the other 13 SEC Teams.
CJ Allen should absolutely be on the Preseason All-SEC Team. How did they miss "that Dawg"?. He'll be "the one they missed, come December. Lol
GGo Dawgs!
OK has 2 players on the 3 team All - SEC team. TX has 8 position players on the 3 teams. That (TX) is just over half of what UGA has on the 3 teams even though TX is rated a Top 3 team (1 spot behind UGA - SI rankings). You think that is excessive? A 3rd ranked TX team doesn't have All SEC caliber players?
AU has 2 position players on the 3 team All SEC teams. AL is a preseason consensus Top 5 team. Would you really be shocked if UGA left Tuscaloosa with an L this year?
Curious how many games from other SEC teams you watched to draw your conclusions?
"being honest....the Dawgs would have 10 or 12 players, on the 1st Team, alone. " I will remember that one for the end of the season. Lol
I wasn't specifically, referring to Texas....although, they had to be include along with mediocreOklahoma. They were, just in the new mix that watered down the "polls". And, my "Tigers" reference, was meant to include ALL OF the Tiger teams....Mizzou, LSU, Auburn. Did I miss any?
Consider this....Dumas-Johnson was 1st Team SEC last year...with almost exactly the amount of experience and accolades as CJ Allen. Neither player is properly represented this year. DJ is on the 3rd yeam...while CJ is overlooked. Makes zero sense.
Did something happen on the defensive side of the football, in Athens, that would warrant such a demotion to the ILB position in that poll. Mykel William was 1st team, last year. Where is he this year?...2nd Team? And, he's projected to be much more impactful this year...than he was in '23. No sense!
IMO...ANY Mike Linebacker that starts for Kirby Smart [@UGA] ddeserves serious "1stTeam consideration"...and, should be, a lock for 2nd or 3rd team..
One of last year's 1st Team LB's, Dumas-Johnson is 3rd Team, this year. The guy that beat him out....CJ Allen doesn't even get a mention on this year's version of "Pomp & Circumstance"?.…c'mon man. Lol
This list makes zero sense, if you start breaking it down against recent year's SEC Teams. Again....Texas is not the stone in the ole shoe. I agree...they are gonna be one of the premier teams in the SEC, this year. And, have quite a roster.
Oh well....it is what it is. I'll meet you in December, to review.
