Defensive line ability, pass rush/ havoc production, and containing the edge are my biggest question marks.

Very interested to see how Bobo uses the TEs this season. Delp is a real talent and could be as good as Bowers if he's used enough.

biggest issue for Clemson - has klubnik matured enough to handle even a depleted UGA DL? If he still has many of the same tendencies as 2023, the dawgs should be ok. but. A couple of strange bounces or penalties could make this game a nail biter.

@Brooksie Great point on more experience at QB for Clemson than a season ago!

Reading this article one would be under the impression UGA is a 2nd rate program coming off a disappointing 23 campaign with a loss in a bowl game over at the Birmingham Bowl after a 6-6 season and the head coach is on the hot seat.

The Fact is UGA is the No#1 ranked team in the country with the best roster in the nation from top to bottom folks… Hell yes Kirby knows headlines are meaningless and his TEAM mush show up at every game and beat the opponent in front of you on every play.

But dam Larry Munson (God Iove him) is not with us anymore and lets be more positive than what seems to be at times a fear of speaking the truth…UGA will show up on Sat at 12pm, play a first great game and be victories!

@Billy2131…understand what you are saying. I feel like I am a realist, but the concerns/questions with our team are legit. We're going to have a lot of freshman and lesser experienced guys having to step up to fill some big shoes. Our schedule is no longer the easier SEC East slate of opponents, and we've got to make it through this kind of schedule for the next two seasons or more. The wear and tear on these guys will be felt by the time the playoffs hit. The Dawgs may be ranked #1 right now, but that's mostly hype. Every team starts at zero. The rock is back at the door, and we cannot rest on the laurels of the last few years to think we can just waltz in and beat our opponents. The game has changed, our opponents are stronger, and we have a long season. I'd rather be cautiously optimistic and real, bringing into question a few areas of concern now than just assume we've got the best roster in the country and can keep that #1 ranking.

I have predicted the Dawgs will go undefeated this season. That prediction is largely predicated on my trust in Kirby & Company.

However, we really don't know anything just yet about our 2024 team other than what we see on paper and what we learned about previous teams to the degree that knowledge means anything about the 2024 team. One thing easy to see on paper is our reliance on a slew of true freshmen in the three deep.

Apparently, according to Kirby, we're not alone. NIL and the portal have greatly impacted all of college football.

Saturday will be here pretty soon. I'm so excited.

    Go, Dawgs!

Agreed! Started off with just one negative after another. I am ok with analysis but just questioning every aspect makes me think we're about the relive the 90s

Alot of Buts in this article…2024 season full of buts…New headline

    GEORGIA SEASON FULL OF BUTS

  • CTDCTD Posts: 79 ✭✭✭ Junior

Many have speculated that Florida transfer Trevor Etienne will be suspended as a result of his offseason driving incident, BUT Smart has yet to make such an announcement.

Incoming true freshman Nate Frazier has sizzled in fall camp, BUT he did not have the benefit of spring drills, and his relative inexperience could be a factor.

Senior Nazir Stackhouse is a solid anchor at defensive tackle, BUT Warren Brinson was held out of some work in camp because of an Achilles injury, and projected No. 3 defense tackle Jordan Hall is out indefinitely with a tibia stress fracture.

Beck, by most all accounts, is the top pro prospect at the quarterback position in the collegiate ranks entering the season.

BUT Beck no longer has explosive go-to targets Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey working their way open on every play, which will place a premium on his accuracy as his passing windows figure to be tighter.

Georgia has some reloading to do with three defensive backs selected in the first 100 picks of the most recent NFL Draft, to the extent to imagine there won’t be some drop-off.

BUT how much, and to what extent?

  • CTDCTD Posts: 79 ✭✭✭ Junior

All-American Malaki Starks is steady enough to be counted on, even coming off his off-season shoulder surgery.

BUT what of new starting defensive back Joenel Aguero, who is replacing the most productive and underrated defensive back off last year’s team, Tykee Smith?

Each of those teams has had a different personalty (another editing snafu) and resolve, growing as the seasons have progressed.

BUT the questions about the defensive line depth and ability and availability of new and added skill position players might ultimately be key to Georgia’s success in the opening game as well as the program’s championship hopes.

Agree. I am fed up with hearing Carson won't have Brock and Ladd. Did these people watch UGA last year when both Brock and Ladd were out for major portions of the year. Geez.
