"Rico s on a rampage"
Awesome!!!! Was that Milo or Ernie?
I would listen every night on my transistor radio in 1970 to see if Rico's hitting streak was extended (it ended up being 31 games and held till Dan Ugla broke it for 33 games). He was the batting title leader that year with a season average of .366 —-my all time favorite Brave!
Maybe Mack did….I know Rico did!
He threw one to me on the third base side of Home Plate… a dream come true!!
Go Braves!
Good Story.
They fell off after that 13-0 start but righted the ship and made the playoffs. Where the Cardinals swept them in 3 games.
Younger Braves fans have no idea that they hadn't won a playoff game until 1991. 25 years exactly zero playoff wins.
I was oneof the "faithful five thousand, " back then. Hardly missed a game and on Sundays, I always brought a cold watermelon. Usually sat by the Braves bullpen in right field. Took my wife there on our first date, when Jim Bouton made his infamous debut at Fulton County Stadium. The Pirates spewed venom at him the entire game, lol. Great times.
BRAVES WIN!!!
BRAVES WIN!!!
BRAVES WIN!!!
The Atlanta Braves BEAT the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2!!!!
GO BRAVES!!!
Schwellenbach sure looks like a keeper. Nice win. Could sure use a big win streak now.
Soler starting to swing a hot bat! Nice to see Merrifield back in the lineup too. He had two hits and two runs!
Not bad for a guy with only one good wheel!!
welll….
At least the Braves are winning 🏅 10-1 in the middle of the seventh!
And both the Mets and Diamondbacks are losing!
Could be a big night for the Braves!
The Dodgers are pitching a position player in the eighth!
🤣🤣🤣😎👍
Need to keep winning - every game is critical. Our pitching has been exceptional and we have gotten some good swings in the past couple of games. Momentum is what we need and fortunately/unfortunately, momentum is tomorrow's starting pitcher.
Today the Phillies did their part and beat those lousy stinking Mets. Time for the Braves to put them in the rear view mirror.
Yes! We are a half game up on the “lousy, stinking Mets” for the third wild card slot and only a half game back of the Diamondbacks for the second wild card slot.
Winning is the key!
Go Braves!
What a clunker tonight. Morton pitches a very solid game and the bullpen surrenders 7 runs- YES, 7 runs in the ninth inning. Yikes.
In the bottom of the 8th, with the score tied, Bravos have men on 2nd and 3rd with no/zero/nada outs. I was wondering (not knowing, of course, of the disaster looming in the top of the 9th) why don't we just run a safety squeeze - even I, a kid with glasses in the 2nd grade, could bunt pretty well. Instead, against a reliever who threw every pitch around 99-101 mph, we struck out twice and hit a soft fly ball into short left field. Baseball has changed. My thought was we have Iglesias coming in to pitch the 9th and he has been pretty much lights out. A one run lead going into the 9th would not be the worst thing - but alas, no one bunts any more. It's just swing away and, in this case, not come even close to getting a bat on a pitch.
