Hey Coach, you will figure out every definition of “playing with fire” if your team comes out on offense for an entire 3 quarters like they did against Kentucky.

When your offense led by a 5th year player who somehow had “Heisman favorite” and NFL First round draft/ First QB off the board hype back in June along with 4 returning starting lineman, and then put on that display of ineptness, you should be prepared to answer questions as to why.

You are paid over$10MIL annually, and your QB is well paid now too, right?

"fan base is sometimes inebriated" made me chuckle

Playing in Lexington is always bad. I have no idea why but we always leave there with a lot of injuries. Don’t forget, it was the close game against Kentucky a few years ago that cost us so many players the week before florida, and that was the last regular season game we lost.

    Kroger field voodoo.

With all the injuries that we have every year I am wondering if because they are getting injured in practice would it be better to not go so hard in practice and wonder if they would get injured in the game? Do more of endurance training in practice. I don't know all I do know is that we got a bunch of guys banged up that we need to have play.

Lol...if I'm not mistaken...the ole boy has 42 straight regular season wins. IMO….he doesn't "have to" explain a doggone thang to anybody. Just keep choppin' wood.

You can count on 1 or 2 of these games, every year. These are learning vehicles, that teach resilience in the face of adversity. I'd liken it to tempering a steel sword. Even if you lose one of these games, you're not out of contention...and, they are priceless as a motivational, developmental tool.

Saban had a few games like this. He used em to springboard his team into Championships.…like the '23 SECC and CFP birth, after a dismal start to the season.

A coach can create these little teaching moments by using alternate personnel packages and conservative play-calling. Saban played his backup QB against USF in '23, to perpetuate the illusion of "Bama having a down year", after losing to Texas the week before.

I guess, what I'm saying, is basically the same thing Kirby said in regard to Kentucky...." you can't judge an SEC Team, based on 1 game".

Go get em Big Red. We see you. Lol

IMO....Kirby "can't" back off of the brutal practices....because, that's why a most of these 4 & 5 star guys come to UGA in the 1st place.

Practicing against some of the Country's "most elite" players....coached by some of the Country's best coaches...is Kirby's best recruiting pitch.

In many ways...UGA's practices are more valuable than "game-film" to NFL scouts. And, landing a spot in the NFL has become a standard Bulldog achievement.

IMO..."Playing in fear of injury", is no way to play the game of football. Injuries are just part of the game. There are very few players, NOT dinged up, during the course of a season.

As far as mitigating the effect of injuries....Kirby is already implementing the best recourse, with cross-training and depth-building. Ironically.…it's the brutality of UGA's practices, that allows Him to do that.

According to various sources....UGA practices are usually more competitive than the games on Saturday. Which is why, I believe, NFL Scouts place so much value on UGA's Culture and, attend their practices. Evidenced by the number of UGA players....not just playing in the NFL....but, playing at a high level, in the NFL.
