Walker talks about tackling. There are way to many tried arm tackles, get back to knocking their legs out from under them. Best example of a great tackle was in the first game against Clemson first play KJ Bolden tackled Mafah , taking his legs out from under him. Beautiful text book tackle, not trying to stop them by grabbing their arms. GO DAWGS

As i watched the game, i got a sense that the tackling issue grew worse in the second half as the D got tired; we got gassed instead of us gassing the opponents D. And it didn't seem that we were "missing" tackles as much as being unable to complete them. Too many times their backs were able to break free or drag our defenders for extended yards as descrbed in the article. If we get those guys we had missing back, we should be able to rotate more and stay fresh.

My wife and I saw exactly this. I'm wondering what the yards after contact was for Kentucky. It's all very easy to correct but frustrating to watch after the exemplary job of wrapping up from prior years' defenses. Better tackling and an offensive line that has bad intentions for the defense will make us look better all around. Go Dawgs!!

I meant to bring this up, but it got lost in all the panic about the offense. This was the #1 sign for me that what we saw in Lexington was nothing more than an uncharacteristically poor performance all around; a one-off. I mean, a Kirby Smart team that can't tackle? Come on.

I’m NOT making excuses but I do think this makes a difference. Early on in the game ( and later to for that matter) the Zebras were tossing the flags on our Dawgs at every opportunity. The bogus late hit call on Walker seemed to put fear in our Defense, not fear of KY but fear of the yellow handkerchief !! It seemed to me that our Dawgs were trying to play safe instead of letting it rip. That combined with the Very poor arm tackling manifested into a pretty bad situation. I could be Very wrong and it sure wouldn’t be the first time, but I’m thinking we’re gonna see a significantly better performance from Both the Defense and the Offense vs. Bama. Will it be enough to get the victory, I sure hope so, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Playing Bama @ their house will be a pretty tough row to hoe !! But the Dawgs are certainly capable of winning it. Just gotta get out there and execute up to their standards. Go Dawgs !!

Those Kentucky running backs are studs, so that also plays into it.

This is all I got…Bama defense is formidable. It has won every game Bama has notched against UGA. Also, Milroe is really using his legs this season. Beat those two obstacles and UGA wins. I believe they will.

I thought the same thing! I thought the penalties were part of a reason we couldn't get into a rhythm.

Of course, next week in Tuscaloosa you can count on UGA playing against Alabama and the refs.

I believe Kirby understands how important this game is for recruiting, as well as the playoffs.
Kirby does have to get better at clock management, AND to not take your foot off the gas!
Alabama scored on Wisconsin last week before the half to put the game out of reach.
That was something that I'm not sure Saban would have done.

    Go Dawgs!

Yep, I'm glad they are addressing it because it was definitely noticeable and a bit concerning seeing very loose attempts at tackling. I expect to see a different team vs Bama though.

I know this is an excuse, but what this article is about stems from missing 3 starters off the defensive line last weekend.

That would hurt any team and hurt our Dawgs tremendously.

However, if the offense would have sustained ANY of their drives and gotten 7 points offf the fumble sack recovery, it would have been a different game in the second half.

I hope they get two of them back for next weekend-if not-Yikes.
