Defense stunk it up in the first half. Beck was a turnover machine. What is wrong with this team? It takes till halftime each week to show up.
Wow, @Gibroni88. I couldn't agree with you more. I, too, have been wondering how Chaz Chambliss keeps his job. I see games — on TV and in person — where he's just getting blown up or blown by. And then I see Kirby talking about him as if he's the next Micah Parsons. He probably reminds Kirby a little of himself, but this ain't the 1990s. Sheer grit, hard work and determination can't compete with uber-talented 5-star players. And I didn't realize Chamblis only had 20 tackles last year. And I don't know what happened to Smael Mondon. When he first came on the scene, I really thought he would be the next Roquan Smith. But he got injured and last year he just plateaued, and has stayed there. He used to have great quickness to the sidelines, but no more. Which leads me to your other point about Jamon Dumas-Johnson. I wish someone would explain why he left UGA. I saw him against Ole Miss, too, and he was making plays everywhere and I kept thinking, "we need that guy on our team." No one we have now is better than him. And also follow you about how, for whatever reason, we just try to start slowly on offense, like we aren't sure what we want to do. Last night, we finally did try to open it up from the beginning, but it appeared like our own players weren't ready to be explosive from the start.
And yet, all those valid points said, as poorly as UGA played for much of the night, a victory was still very much possible if our defense could have just **** it up and made one (1) final stop in the last two minutes. Same as last year's SECCG.
@DallasDawg
Yessir! Hard to believe, right?
And as far as the eyeball test is concerned, I can’t count on one hand how many times I have seen him get blown up by a guard or a tackle and not set the edge that gives up a huge gain to a running QB.
Started all 14 games last year at LB.
He won’t be playing on Sundays.

Lol...and ironically the 2017 Natty.....and the 2012 SECCG. In fact, this is the most competitive UGA has been against the Tide in their recent "regular season" match-ups. 41-24 has a familiar ring to it....so, there's been definite improvement.
And, weren't the Dawgs down 31-3 @ halftime, back in the late 00''s?....during the embarrassing and infamous "Black Out Game".
It's high time, the Dawgs got "mean and nasty about it"....and took Bama to task for their insolence. Lol. If they meet Bama again this year....I'll be very disappointed if Kirby doesn't have these guys ready to eat off the floor, going into the game.
To hell with "business as usual" and maintaining a "professional demeanor". This particular opponent requires a little more than that. This is becoming a true rivalry. Lol...bring it on.
You're right....IMO....the Kentucky game was not a one-off....the South Carolina blowout over Kentucky was the one-off. Kentucky has a team....mark my words. 10-win team??? Nope. But, maybe 8 or 9.
Playing Kentucky close...in Lexington...is normal. Not a one-off. At least the way I see it, anyway. Maybe I'm wrong. We'll know soon enough.
Just for the record....I think Bobo and Smart are ready to open it up, going forward. No need to worry about complacency, perception & expectations, anymore. The media and fans will take care of that. UGA will decimate the Texas Longhorns, when they get to em....and, Texas is equal to or greater than, Bama.
UGA's real season begins this coming Saturday. The only question in my mind, is which team will they have to face again? Alabama? Texas?....Ole Miss? Tennessee will be in the mix too. Doesn't really matter, I guess. When it's all said and done, the SEC will...and should…have 4 or 5 teams mixing it up, in December.
I'd bet my left leg...[lower half]...that UGA will be one of "the twelve". Lol. And, there's no tougher OUT in a "playoff" environment, than a Georgia Bulldog. So....what is everybody worried about. Lol
