Unpopular opinion, but regardless of the reason, Kirby loosing his cool on the sideline is bad look and speaks to him cracking a little under the pressure. He needs to set an example at all times for his players, especially during the game. His nervousness becomes contagious. I am not saying he should not be emotional or let his players and coaches know when they are not performing, but that action was beneath him.

Not unpopular. We see the comment for what it is . . . ignorant.

Appears to me Kirby took his frustration with Schumann out on Van Buren…..they have headsets, how bout a channel where the HC can talk to the OC or DC….then he could maintain his focus on the field…..past that I can't pass judgement because I to have done and said **** boneheaded things in frustration…..I'd bet that Mary Beth addressed the issue with him after the game and it will never happen again.

This isn’t **** Hayes blatantly hitting a clemson player in the neck in the late 1970s. In the moment, he probably would have shoved anyone in his way. I agree it’s not a good look based on off field issues, but it’s over. Move along, move along.

That is an uncalled for response. Disagree? No issue there but don’t resort to name calling.
I actually agree that Smart looked furious in the moment. I don’t believe at all he was trying to shove the player but yeah, he looked really angry.

THe QB walked into Kirby as he was coming horizontally across the sideline. Kirby not even looking pushed back on him like just get out of my way. JUst something hat happened and looked worse than it was.

This team is not the same as years past. No superstars, a lot of good to great players who need to work hard to get results. I remember when UGA was losing 3 or 4 games a year. It’s going to take 60 minutes of mistake free, everyone working in unison to win in Austin. Go Dawgs!

Smart needs to calm down on the sideline or he's gonna have a heart attack! Man, are the wheels coming off? 🤔

Apologies made to both Van Buren, and Lebby by Kirby. It should be the end of this, nothing else needs to be printed about it and keeping the fire lit.

@reddawg1 Not making a big deal out of this other than to be sympathetic to people who state that had Van Buren been the one to shove Kirby Smart like that the whole incident would have played out very differently.

That being said, yes, the QB "walked into Kirby." But he did so because a UGA assistant grabbed him by the collar and then pushed him in the direction that Kirby was walking. It was more of a "hey kid, glad you are OK, now it really would be best were you to stop going in this direction and leave our sideline as quickly as possible" type of deal. And this was after being grabbed by a third assistant at the 0 second mark! So Van Buren was grabbed, collared, pushed and then shoved by 3 different UGA coaches within the space of 4 seconds! Kind of impressive if you ask me.

@Dawgsfan71 It may be as simple as UGA getting Jared Wilson and Ratledge back. It won't give UGA an RB situation like the one in 2017 where they had 3 future NFL starters in Chubb, Michel and Swift, but better interior blocking will make Etienne and company more effective when running between the tackles.
