Ugh. Four days later we're taking about beating someone up and there needing to be consequences for an unsportsmanlike that wasn't called?
And did anyone else find Ingram's perspective on the whole the thing unintelligible? One moment it's all about "alpha" superiority (yawn), the next he's taking about the player in that situation like he's some helpless "child."
Ha. Nothing says "alpha" like a hot take that doesn't even pick a lane.
First thing that ran through my mind with Ingram's comments - How old is this guy? Sounds like a 14-year old trying to prove his masculinity. Too many talking heads that have nothing else to talk about; just looking for stuff to stir up and grab a headline or a like on a Tweet, etc.
That was a silly, rambling post full of total nonsense.
No one on this forum excused what happened but we all understand the lack of intent so please, feel free to wander back to your own team's comment section. What has been said is, and if you had actually read my post you would have seen it, Smart did not handle the immediate and post-game "after the fact" well but he did reach out to the kid and the kid seems to have accepted it. Yes, it could have been a penalty but so is a facemask call, even when not intentional.
Also, no one in their right mind (key words there) thinks Smart did it intentionally. And "assaulted"? Seriously?
Kudos to you on the most bonehead post of the year and an entry into the category of most boneheaded, period.
Ingram must be a piece of crap to make comments like that. It was obvious that Smart was trying to get to a coach and did not realize he even touched the player with the bunched up crowd in that sideline mess. He made it obvious he does not embody what his Heisman trophy says he did.
The all mighty media once again making too much out of something to try to make a story relevant. Kirby would have pushed anyone in the way of him trying to get to his DC.
Once again, nothing to see here. Move along, move along.
No one that talks about being an alpha is an alpha.
Ingram just confirmed that he is not too bright. Had he swung on CKS ON THE UGA SIDELINE he would've been carried back to the AL sideline in pieces.
You see players shove each other worse than this, after the whistle, on almost every play.
@Bulldawg90 good point. I wrote this comment before I read the other comments.
FOR THE LOVE OF PRECIOUS KITTENS, CAN Y'ALL PLEASE FIX THE COMMENT SECTION! IT'S SO SCREWED UP!
GO DAWGS!
BEAT TEXAS!
I am impressed with the Miss St freshman quarterback's response to what happened. He showed poise and maturity which probably contributes to his impressive performance against us. I was looking at the comparisons of our performance against them vs Texas against them. Me thinks they would have scored 2-3 TDs more on Texas with Van Buren at the helm. With his coach guiding his development, he's going to be a problem for any of their opponents going forward.
Shut up. I would expect Urban Meyer to be such a ****. Now Ingram has established himself as one too.
I disagree. While it was a longer post it was very cogent. Not much you can argue with really until you get to the 3rd paragraph and the term "assault".
This situation is not in the real world this is the football world. So you really cannot claim "assault". Pushing and shoving goes on after the whistle on almost every play.
CKS could've been flagged for the contact even if inadvertent and/or unintentional. The contact may also have occurred on the field. Coaches aren't allowed on the field except during timeouts. Contact with an opposing player on the field by an opposing coach is probably a penalty 90% of the time. We all know that CKS LIVES on the field or in the white stripe Ref zone. He has 1 guy assigned to pull him by his belt OFF the field.
So just the fact that an obvious contact was made by a coach on the field (?) warranted a penalty. It would've have been interesting had a penalty been called. CKS constantly (and rightfully) preaches composure. At times (this season) he appears to be on the edge of losing his.
But it was clear to anyone watching that CKS did not go after an opposing player to intentionally shove him. The 2 just intersected on their paths between points A and B. Not a great look for CKS and fodder for all the UGA/CKS haters to pile on.
IMO this issue was blown way out of proportion. Still CKS did the right thing calling the player and the coach.
BTW, did you know you can assault someone w/o touching them? When you put your hands on them it becomes "battery" IN THE REAL WORLD. On the football field it is called a block or a tackle.
Blah Blah Blah..anothelr self proclaimed "alpha" hiding behind a keyboard. Shouldnt be at all suprising though, considering the source, and the school where he received half an education, if that. Another typical bammer clown..
Ingram’s mouthing off intentionally is much, much worse than an inadvertent collision on the sideline. Kirby didn’t intentionally push the kid. He didn’t even remember it after the game. Ingram acting like a bad a__ is just classless.
Screw Mark Ingram and Urban Meyer. Kirby didn’t go after the guy like **** Hayes. They got in each others way. Maybe Kirby should’ve got a penalty but it’s not the first missed penalty we’ve seen in a college football game this year. Thank God the people involved were more mature than these two blowhards trying to play bad ass. Ingram might of got that butt whipped on Georgia’s sideline if he would’ve went after Kirby. We got some alphas of our own
