@ConnorRiley as I understand it the surgery for Roderick Robinson was for Turf Toe issues, how long does recovery typically last for that ? And IF I understood right Branson had a sprained MCL not requiring surgery can you speculate on how long typically recovery takes for that issue ? Thanks in advance !! And Anyone else that cares to respond. Go Dawgs !!

@navydawg....I didn't know Roderick had surgery, but if that's the case then that means the turf toe was severe. Turf toe is one of the most debilitating injuries you can get and pretty common in football. Even a mild-moderate turf toe can take many weeks to heal without surgery. A lot of times the injury can linger and return if you aren't careful. Very painful and limits your ability to push off the turf and move forward. Obviously that's not good if you are an RB trying to run forward and gain yards. I gotta wonder if Roderick is even practicing right now or what kind of rehab he has been able to go through. My bet is he's not close to coming back in his football bruiser-type shape. No updates are ever given for him. He could be out most if not all of the season.

If turf toe which involves the great toe plantar surface joint capsule, associated ligaments and muscle tendon as well as the small sesamoid bones subjacent to the the head of the first metatarsal involves a complete tear, surgery may provide relief from pain but approximately 20% of those surgically treated may never be able to return to a competitive level. It may take 6 months for full recovery to be reached when surgery is performed. I do not expect Roderick to return to competition this season.

Thanks Much for the info. Guys !! Let’s hope I was very wrong about him having surgery for this issue and I could very well be. Hope both Roderick & Branson get back soon as Both have huge potential !! Go Dawgs !!

Any comments regarding Branson will also be appreciated. Who’d have thought at the beginning of the season our RB room would be a bit thin ?? We’ve still got Etienne, Jones, and Frazier. If possible would like to see Bowens get in there so he can be developed for more depth. Headed into the final regular season stretch !!! Go Dawgs !!!

Neither TRat or SMondon should play until the week after the FU game. They won't be needed to beat FU. That gives them both 3 more weeks to get right.

Please quit saying this. Georgia needs to play every available player in every game. We cannot afford to take any team or game for granted. SEC teams are proving this every week. If Ratledge and Hall and Mondon (doubtful) are ready to play against Florida, then they need to play.

Speaking of Mondon, though, I'm asking ANYONE to explain why Kirby has been so secretive about the specific nature of his injury and his expected date of return. Frankly, I don't expect him to return this season because Kirby has been so secretive about it. Hope I'm wrong. Go Dawgs!

I had a friend back in the 80s who had played outside linebacker in college. He got turf toe in his junior year and never played another down of college ball. He got surgery on it in the Air Force and actually got better. We played flag football and softball on the same teams for a couple of years. He could hit a softball farther than anyone I have ever seen.

They would not be listed as questionable if they were "ready to play".

You apparently have a short memory. I guess you don't remember Mims tapping out in the SECCG. Or Bowers limping around the field to close out his UGA college career. The last thing you want is to rush TRat back against an FU team that UGA will beat by 2-3 TD's and then reinjure himself and be out for the important games later. An OLineman playing on 1 leg will not help UGA win vs FU.

Same with Mondon on D. 3, 5, 11 and 18 playing ILB vs FU will be more effective than Mondon being less than 100%.

Florida is so bad that UGA could still beat them playing ALL 2nd teamers.

CKS is not going to risk TRat or Mondon in that game.
