ATHENS — Parity has made for a fascinating race in the SEC, but it hasn’t done much to enhance the Heisman Trophy chances of the league’s best players.

Beck would need 300+, 4 tds, 0 int each game left to have a chance. I don’t think he’ll get back in the race, but I think he’ll light it up.

The Heisman is nothing these days. Most players play to win championships. The players that won have had a mixed bag of success in the NFL. Cool trophy I guess, but not the cachet it used to have.

While I feel this is super optimistic, I certainly hope Beck earns a seat at the table in New York. That said, MG has provided some awesome stats to see just what Beck is up against 🧐😳🤔

The only way I see CBeck winning the Heisman is for UGA to win out and for Beck to have ZERO INT's the rest of the season.

"And yet, Beck has a road win over the No. 1-ranked defense (Texas) and a school-record 459-yard passing outing on his resume this season."

@MikeGriffith The win over the No.1- ranked defense (Texas) was in spite of Beck and company having 3 turnovers and 0 passes for TD's. That game will do nothing to elevate his chances at any individual award. I think there are still enough opportunities remaining (counting post season games) for him to have a successful season and a decent draft choice position, because he is a very good and talented QB who is just not playing up to his potential. His receivers are going to have to elevate their games as well in order to recover the season and play at their level of potential. This team should still be considered one of the favorites for a championship, but I just don't see any chances for individual awards at the end of the season.

    GO DAWGS!

And yet I'm sure all of us would love to see Beck do what he'd have to do to be a strong Heisman candidate or Heisman winner. Everybody is in his corner cheering him on. He's our quarterback. We know he has the potential. We know he is super talented. We know his entire supporting cast has the capacity to help him reach that ceiling.

Most of us, and, I'm sure, the entire team, probably including Carson, are much more interested in winning their games than any individual awards. Much improvement is called for. They know it. Kirby knows it. We all know it.

    Go, Dawgs!

Beck doesn't have a chance at all for the Heisman. That is a joke. In fact, as it stands right now, Cam Ward is the only QB in the country that has a realistic shot at the Heisman. Travis Hunter and Jeanty are rightfully leading the pack currently.

One of the big reasons (besides the portal) that there seems to be so much more parity in the SEC this year is because there are no real stud, standout elite QBs on any teams. Ewers and Beck are above average but aren't elite. Milroe is barely average.

It will be really interesting to see if any SEC team emerges above the rest in 2025 with an elite QB leader. That will differentiate them from the rest of the pack.

You can count me in as part of that group, he is a great QB surrounded by great championship caliber players. If he finishes the season and post season playing like a contender, and the rest of the offense follows with the same level of performance, it will be bad news for everyone else. Although I don't see a path for him to win the Heisman (y'all may disagree, and I understand), I certainly think he can be a championship caliber QB leading a championship caliber offense!

    GO DAWGS!

I would just like to see CBeck play like he did last year. CBeck is probably (undoubtedly?) the best player on the UGA offense and maybe on the team. The problem is he plays QB. If he played tackle he'd just need to dominate the man in front of him every play. The QB has to disregard what is happening around him and execute the play. His play is reliant on everyone's play around him to protect him, block for him, run the right route, hit the right hole and catch the ball. All while standing calmly in the middle of total chaos.

Where CBeck struggles is with pressure. He got almost none last season with a better OL. He is not used to pressure. He is not especially mobile or elusive to deal with pressure. Pressure brings all QB's down to earth.

Therefore the key to the season is protecting CBeck. Get him comfortable again and let him do his thing. Of course it would help if Bobo expanded the O with a little more imagination and deception.

As for Heisman, not likely unless CBeck puts the team on his back and takes UGA to a championship.

Still hard to understand how UGA went into Austin and soundly beat the "#1 D and #1 team", and scored 30 pts while turning the ball over 3 times, having the QB not play all that well and have multiple dropped passes. That game should energize CKS to right the offense. IF CKS can then a championship can be had this season.

IMHO, this Heisman conversation has been the biggest curse of our season. Please just stop it!

Beck's problems began with the Lamborghini. It speaks volumes.

Without reading the remarks…You have got to be crazy to use the word heisman and cb in the same sentence
