They are trolls. One must live a sad existence to come on message boards and put their ignorance on display for everyone to read.

"This a big game to him. He’s from here, and we don’t win that game without Carson Beck, so.” How do you know CKS, you won't give anyone else a chance, sick of the way Beck's playing, a half of football.

"The recipe for winning football is don’t turn the ball over, run the ball, and play good defense. And for the most part we’ve done that most of the year. We didn’t do that for a little bit of the half." Seriously CKS, you must take us for idiots, I love your spin, a little bit in the first half?

I know CKS has been successful, I know he does what he thinks is best, I know he's not Saban, not Sark, but they've both had the grit to sit their prima donna QB's when they're not performing.

You that criticize those of us that care remember the Richt days, we're the ones that called for a change then, see how many vote downs a troll that's been a true Dawg since 1969 can generate here. I'm no troll, don't live a sad existence, don't consider myself ignorant and don't criticize those that voice their opinions dazzle….

@MobileDawg....let me start out by saying...I think you're a DGD and devoted fan.....and, you aren't completely wrong.

However...when Richt was there....I was the one calling for a change to Defensive Coordinator, from the minute Van Gorder moved on, till Pruitt arrived. If Richt had made that change 6, 7 or 8 yrs sooner...he would've won a few Natty's himself. IMO. And, we wouldn't be talking about Kirby...yet.

Richt, tried to hire Kirby & Muschamp twice, that I know of...and, they leveraged it into a raise, in their contracts. I think both those guys had their eye on the UGA job, from the time they graduated.

My guess is...Saban probably told Smart, that if he teamed up wirh Richt...that job would not open up again for another 15-20 years. Cause, they would look like they do, right now. Richt taught Bobo everything he knows.

"We had em right where we wanted em in the 2nd half."_____Billy Napier

Lol....funny. when I heard this...I was thinking, it was the other way around. Moreover...I think, deep down, Napier knows....Kirby and Bobo were slow-rollin' em. Physicality.…physicality.…physicality. Give the Gators their due.…they kept it together, longer than I thought they would.

Short game on offense....bend don't break, on defense. Keep it close, with strategic & targeted play-calling, till the 4th. And, do yore thang, to close it out. That's how you downplay your strengths, when you have a team like the Bulldogs....IMO.

That way....they won't be ranked on top in the 1st CFP. Maybe. A 1st place CFP ranking, in early November...doesn't help Kirby's cause, one bit....IMO. He has to be able to show the team, all of their warts. IF...the goal is to be perfect.

The younger players....[and, that's quite a few]...can't think they're better than they are. It's Kirby's job to expose their weaknesses, and help fix em. Some weaknesses, won't show up, till game day.

If they think they've "Arrived", they become complacent...don't push as hard and Kirby has nowhere to take em. No carrot...all stick. They have to believe they can get better and have the burning desire, to do so.

Sure....you're always gonna have a set of on-field leaders (hopefully), to help teach and guide. But, once a kid(s) is convinced, he/they can't be beat. Sometimes, it takes catastrophe, to open their eyes. In UGA's case....that would be another loss.

Kirby knows what he's doing. He may be some kind of "human nature" savant. Lol...no wonder he's a "great recruiter".

    That's just my opinion, anyway.

    Go get em Big Red.

@BigDawg61, I enjoy reading your posts, the depth of knowledge you bring, well thought out opinions, all presented with your brand of humor. My youngest was just accepted to Auburn, my money will now go there but my heart's still in Athens. We were in Jordan Hare Saturday, great game day environment, terrible game. Hope to get back to Athens a couple of times next year. Take care buddy, I look forward to hearing from you.

I do know that Carson Beck does give us the best chance to win, Kirby doesn't want to destroy Beck's confidence. What do you do when a two year or three year old throws a temper tantrum? A timeout's in order, doesn't mean you don't love or support them, they just need to calm down.

As far as Richt goes his downfall was he was to loyal to his players and coaches. He accepted mediocrity and IMO became complacent allowing a soft culture to set in. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the kind words. And, right back at'cha.

Exactly right, regarding Richt's loyalty. In fact, in 2007 or 2008, I sent him an email, regarding his attachment to Willie "Boy" Martinez...telling him, that if he stayed with his current defensive strategy…it would cost him future victories & Championships. Lol…not that I really expected him to change anything.

It's a darn shame, he couldn't find a qualified DC to take his place. Grantham wasn't much better. He depended on high football IQ and emotion. Too complicated for the average Fr/So to learn on the fly.. And, obviously, you can't be, "emotionally sky high" for every game….the way they were vs Missouri in the "Grown Man Football" game. Lol

By the time he found Pruitt [instead of Smart, btw]…it was already too late...IMO. I believe, that the plan to hire Kirby was made, when UGA was shopping for their post-Grantham Coordinator.
