Malaki Starks says exactly what Georgia has to do if it is to bounce back and beat Tennessee
OXFORD, Ms. — For years, Georgia was the bully in college football. On Saturday, it was the one who got pummeled.

Kind of tiresome hearing about how tough it is. It shouldn’t be that tough to at least show up and compete. Go Dawgs!
Every team in the SEC should want to line up with paddles for the next beat down! What the heck did they do in practice last week LOL! Apparently nothing….8-4 lookin like reality (i'll take my criticism for saying that). This teams probs are way more than beck/bobo ineptness.
Kirby will bark about parity, turnovers, injuries, etc. There certainly was no parity in this game. Like several others, including wins, our superior talent got consistently whipped, man-to-man, all over the field, and especially at the line of scrimmage. In other words, they were out-prepared and out-motored… which is the bedrock of coaching. KIrby and his staff have nothing and no one to blame but themselves. That's where the greatest work needs to happen. Go Dawgs!
This result was in the making for weeks, going all the way back to the Kentucky game, the week after SC whooped Kentucky all over their field by 30.
That was not that long ago.
And the slow starts that this team has been displaying on offense dates all the way back to last season, with the same QB and coaches in charge.
So let’s be honest with eachother about what we are witnessing, and that would mean admitting that the wins against Texas and Clemson are the “outliers”, not truly the identity of this team.
They were great wins and 100% credit for their results, but this team has been playing like the Kentucky game at least 5+ games this season by my count.
A similar result against UT in Athens? Well, we all know the season is over as far as the playoffs.
To be elite, you have to earn it, right?
And don’t forget, the last game of the season is going to be the bugs “SuperBowl” , and the results of that game will reverberate, positively or negatively, for years. Recruiting, ticket sales, paying attention to the team in the offseason, donations, legacy, etc.
No more excuses.
Either be elite, or be average.
Go Dawgs!
THe problem is we don't have superior talent any longer. Not this year. Excuses only get you so far. DId anyone watch the BAMA beat down of LSU? They looked better coached better prepared and just better from a physical standpoint. Milroe is the best player in college. Hard to believe we came back and almost won that game. We have regressed and BAMA is peaking.
I felt sorry for Ole MIss when Dart left the game, for about 10 seconds until their 6'6" lefty backup started slicing and dicing us. THey looked poised to make a smoothe transition to him when Dart leaves. We have Gunner Stockton who Kirby wont let sniff the field, even when we're generating zero offense. THe future doesn't look so bright.
Talking heads saying that UGA with Kirby can't get the best QB's and our receivers get no seperation. It shows.
CKS has to rethink the portal situation. Kiffen looks like a genuis now. THeir D-line kicked our butts with just a 4 man rush.
Georgia can't hide any longer behind what was a much easier slate of annual opponents in the SEC East.
Yes Kirby, welcome to the new reality.
Sorry but nothing about Maliki Starks in this article, just Kirby Smart.
Malaki Starks:
“We got to be better, and we got to execute better,” safety Malaki Starks said. “And don’t point fingers, you don’t need to point fingers. Look yourself in the mirror and realize what you got to do better. But I think that’s something that we all can do, and that we got to go back to work on Monday.”
Just at the end MS makes a comment. The article was titled like it was all starks 🙄
It's simple, you have to win out to make the playoffs..
Reddawg, I thought the same thing. 'Least bama got off the canvas and "competes" (kirby's fav reply LOL)
Is there enough toilet paper for LSU and UGA 😝
UGA has got to get better at the run game. Then, get some WRs who can catch the ball and RUN…separate too. Go to the portal and land some ELITE big boys up front on the Oline. I would also look for another much more mobile QB who can throw with accuracy. Lane Kiffin is a good coach and went out and bought elite QB, linesmen et al. It worked. NIL is where it is at…like it or not. Today, it seems, we buy our elite teams. Georgia is falling behind. slowly. Not g etting thee best recruits either…and coaches……yes, coaches. Kirby must deal with some harsh realities. Remember Monken? I do.
You are either elite or you are not….That goes for coaches too. We never had a great OL when Coach Searles was here before. This years supposed contenders for the Joe Moore award have not lived up to that. Yes there were injuries on the OL, but coaching up the backups is part of the job. Heck coaching the starters to be elite is part of the job. I keep watching film evaluations of UGA, and all year there have been issues pointed out. Has there been no film study by the team? When someone gets beaten badly, getting better means coaching them to learn how to avoid that. And the WR room is not much better. Coley was not a great success the last time he was here. How much work on catching footballs has been done? Try somebody new at OL and WR. MIght motivate the starters. That could be applied to the QB room, too!
Like many others, I was offended by Carson's attitude on the sidelines. Stetson Bennett said "I wasn't going to have that ( 'fumble' given to Alabama that should have been an incomplete pass ) be the reason we lost". I never once saw Stetson less than serious when we were trailing in a game. I believe that Carson was the QB in a G-Day game who went in, quickly threw an interception, and was smiling about it as he left the field. If Tennessee handles us like Ole Miss did, I will be very happy to see different numbers playing QB!
