Texas only drops 1 or 2 spots after a loss ? What a load of BS! And how is smu ranked ahead of clemson? I know they have 1 less loss than clemson, but the Tigers beat smu in the acc championship,a definite head scratcher! Same scenario if Texas was still ranked ahead of UGA after the SECCG loss. Ranking criteria seems to change on a weekly basis, 1 week it's SOS, next its quality wins, the next week its wins vs losses, then they resort to the eye test to decide if a team looks good enough, which standard is it that decides the outcome now? I will never understand the ever changing criteria used by these "experts" to make their final decisions.
Alabama in top 12 is bad. Indiana isn’t worthy. Notre Dame at 3 is criminal.
Yes to everything below. Texas has one decent win for the whole year. I don’t know if ND has any (I stopped paying any attention to them, because they were always going to be overrated, so I just didn’t care), and Alabama has two pretty embarrassing losses, and only one quality win, which came at home and was decided in the last seconds of the game…
And they kept bama out of the playoffs!
Subjective rankings need to go. The money, investment in facilities, & the prestige has gotten too big for a group of people sitting in a hotel conference room trying to pick a beauty queen. There is no way to compare schedules or wins & losses across these conferences . Outside of Oregon, few f any of the teams in the top 25 could survive a SEC schedule. Like every other sport, champions need to be decided n the field.
